Recently we took our updated ALPHA 12 to the track to do some more testing. As of recent, the limits of the factory block had been reached and our engineers went to work to devise a new way of reinforcing the engine. To prove our new method, we knew we had to put the updated ALPHA 12 package through a series of Grueling tests. The car was placed on the dyno for over three hours in 100 plus degree heat where it produced over 1300whp at 35 psi of boost. Upon completion of dyno testing we took the car to our local drag strip where the weather was not much more favorable. Scorching sun, 90 degree track temps, a density altitude of 2745 and high humidity proved to produce very slick conditions. Still we agreed that the package had to be placed through the most brutal of conditions to ensure the integrity of the new ALPHA 12 package. It was at the track our Special Projects Technician, Ivan Phipps subjected the GT-R to no less than 10 drag passes. The car was run over and over again producing times in the 9.0 to 9.2 range and all over 160mph. The ALPHA 12 GT-R was spinning all four tires all the way through 4th gear on every run and not getting 100% traction until fifth gear. Even in these conditions the AMS ALPHA 12 GT-R was able to reset the ET And MPH with a 9.052@166.66 pass. During that pass, our V-box recorded a verified 60-130mph time of 3.46 seconds making it one of the fastest accelerating street cars ever recorded. The incident took place last week in central Moscow when a speeding Nissan GT-R, worth some $160 thousand, rammed into cars parked along the street. The impact was powerful enough to literally throw a jeep into the air. There are no reports of injuries - or the identity of the driver. It's not clear whether the driver was street-racing with another car. Some bloggers have already claimed they've seen the car the evening before driving at a speed of around 200 km/h.

After smashing the GT-R 1/4 mile record at the TX2K12 with an 8.62@173.81mph pass, the Alpha Omega GT-R went straight to the Texas Mile in an attempt to reset the GT-R top speed record of 218mph. FRIDAY The morning was spent preparing the Alpha Omega for tech inspection. A 1/2 mile shakedown pass was performed early afternoon. With much more power than what we had worked with last October, the Alpha Omega was literally flying down the track. Nonetheless, Ivan Phipps, the projects technician and driver for the Alpha Omega kept at it - pulling a 221mph top speed late Friday afternoon which was enough to claim the record! SATURDAY With the absence of wind Saturday morning, the decision was made to press on. The Alpha Omega only used approximately 1050whp of its available 1600whp on Friday's record pass. With approximately 1250whp dialed in, the crew wanted to see if the car could at least break the 230mph barrier before heading home for the weekend. On Saturday's one and only pass down the Mile, Ivan was able to get the Omega to the 1/2 mile marker with a speed of 197mph. The car ran loose with stock aero and absence of a rear wing, but the throttle remained pegged to the floor. Ivan passed the 1 mile marker at 233.1mph. It was a new record for the R35 GT-R, but not without a hitch. The Omega hit a dip in the runway past the mile marker which caused it to bounce. Combined with the effect of the parachute, the force was enough to lift the rear wheels of the Omega off the <b>...</b>

AMS Alpha 12 Nissan GT-R Runs a 9 second 1/4 Mile! AMS Alpha 12 R35 GT-R : 9.1@159.97 at the TX2K11 Nationals Subscribe! A lack of good weather and open tracks around Chicago made the TX2K11 Nationals a great opportunity for us to bring Tim Sanders' Alpha 12 for some preliminary quarter mile track testing. During one of the test and tune sessions, Sander's gray Alpha 12 was able to fire off a 9.1@159.97 run. The car is not dialed in to its full potential as of yet, but considering this was its first time to the track, the outcome was still very much a success. We will have more updates on the Alpha 12 as the weather gets warmer and the tracks open up here in the Chicago area.
