Norman Blake on The Johnny Cash Show

Norman Blake sat in with the Tennessee Three for most episodes of the show, but never stood up and rarely received any acclaim. That was rectified on the Nov. 25, 1970 Thanksgiving Show. Featured are "Folsom Prison Blues" and a standard whose name I'm only guessing at, "Mama Don't 'Low," that features Blake in solos on multiple instruments. I like Blake's work when he's singing even better. If you're unfamiliar with him, I can't recommend highly enough that you go check him out on the iTunes, or wherever you download your music from

Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Norman Blake and Randy Scruggs on The Johnny Cash Show, January 6, 1971, ripping through a mean, 'high lonesome'-style "Muleskinner Blues" that will leave you shivering in your timbers.
I am a Man of Constant Sorrow (Instrumental)

A take on Norman Blake's 'Man of Constant Sorrow' off the 'O brother where art thou' soundtrack. This is a lovely tune, it's supposed to played a lot slower, I started way too fast and then just kept going! Disaster!
