Ohana Tiple Tuning Demo
This is a comparison of the Ohana Tiple in "D" tuning followed by "C" tuning (the standard ukulele gCEA). I did not start the video with music because the audio samples were recorded with a TASCAM multi-track recording studio outfit and professional mixing board with studio-quality microphones. The video segments were made with the FLIP UltraHD. I used natural light, not my studio lamps-- mainly because I did not want to take the time to set up the photographic studio.

Ohana 5 String Tenor Ukulele - REVIEW
A look at the new TK-35G-5 from Ohana. The price has not been fixed yet, but it will be available from Ohana main dealers from mid to late summer. This is the instrument that Kimo Hussey is playing in my previous two videos. I think Sebi is also playing it in a duet with me in an earlier video. The reason I have this prototype instrument is because I work for the Ohana.

Ohana Delta Resonator - REVIEW
This is the prototype tenor resonator ukulele that was on display at the NAMM show last week. Ohana and Delta Resonator Cones have joined forces to make a ukulele with a truly beautiful resonant tone. I have not used any effects at all on the audio. I am afraid the acoustics in my attic are a little flat, but it does give a fairly accurate idea of the sound that is produced. Over the last few months I have worked closely with Colin Oldham of DRC to produce an instrument of which we are both very proud. This is a prototype and there will certainly be some improvements before it goes into production. Everyone that has tried it has loved the loud vibrant sound that it produces. Of course, the instrument is in effect hand built. It will continue to be assembled in England and will go into production in limited numbers shortly after the Frankfurt show in March. I am playing my arrangement of "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" at the start of the video and "Worried Man Blues" at the end.

OHANA SK-35G - Ukulele Review
The Ohana 35 series instruments are absolutely beautiful and have a wonderful rich tone. The SK-35G is a real favourite of mine. I personally like the gloss version (35G) though the non-gloss version (35) is just as popular. This is, in fact, one of the best selling all-solid instruments around and is extremely reasonably priced. Although I now work for Ohana, please be aware that I purchased the tenor version of this instrument (and owned 3 others) before I ever worked for the company. OHANA SK-38 - Ukulele Review
This new all-solid soprano ukulele from Ohana is based on a 1930's Martin Style 2. Quite a number of Ohana dealers, in both the US and Europe, already have them in stock. Please be aware that I work for Ohana Music. Having said that, I know that many people have been waiting patiently for this uke to come out. The tune I play at the begining is part of my new arrangement of a 17th Century piece called "Cherry Garden". It is actually much easier to play than it sounds and will be available in my next eBook: "12 Easy Tunes for Ukulele". I hope to complete this book in the next couple of months.

OHANA CK-35L - Super-Concert Review
Several people have been asking me recently about long-necked ukuleles. Beacause I work for the company, I decided to do a review on an Ohana instrument with a all-solid concert body and a tenor neck: the CK-35L. The music I am playing at the beginning is my arrangement of "Larry O'Gaff". It is based on the same traditional tune as the John King version, but is quite different. The right hand run at the start is played by rapidly playing the thumb and the first 3 fingers of the right hand. It is tricky. I got carried away and made the film much to long for YT, so I had to chop it about in several places to shorten it.

I am reviewing the new Ohana 5 String Tenor Ukulele. The model number is the TK-35G-5. It is available to buy now. Some stores have already got it in stock though you may have to wait as some dealers have not yet had it delivered. As most of you know, I work for Ohana Ukuleles and I have been very much looking forward to the arrival of the production model of this instrument. There was a great deal of interest in it at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim, California.

Ohana SK-22Z REVIEW
This new soprano from Ohana will be available in limited numbers from the Ohana stall at the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain. The festival will be held in Cheltenham this coming weekend (19th and 20th June 2010). All profits from this sale will go to help with the running costs of the festival. The SK-22Z is the latest soprano from Ohana. Although a handful have already been sold, it is not generally available yet. The instrument has a solid spruce top and lovely zebrawood back and sides. I shall not be selling other instruments. They are just there for people to try. However, at least three Ohana main dealers will be attending the festival. The piece I am playing at the beginning is part of my arrangement of The Lord Of The Dance.
