This is my review of the Opinel model number 6. Model numbers range between 2 and 12, with the exception of number 11. The size of the blade increases with the model number. Whilst being very cheap and having a strong positive following I do not care for them. Some people are big Opinel fans, but I don't particularly know why. They are however cheap, small and very sharp. They stay that way too, thanks to a carbon steel blade that is flat ground, and their reputation for good heat treatment. I made a small mistake showing this model number in my UK knife law video, becuase of the feature of the virobloc ring that allows the otherwise slip-joint knife to lock in the open or closed position, despite taking a long time after initial deployment to do so. However, model numbers 5 and below are entirely legal UK EDC. Despite the fact that you may not like the look or specs of Opinels and that I don't personally like them, I would recommend you buy one at some point. They are very cheap; this one cost about £8 from www.heinnie.com but are available in lots of different places due to their popularity and reputation. Even if you don't like your Opinel, I think it's one knife you have to own (even if it is hideous and flimsy feeling).
