Well, they are finally back from the shops getting some maintenance done and the Rail fans are all out to see them. My K-Line New York Central E-8's & matching MTH Premier Streamliners. The lake is in place and I'll have that last rock completed this weekend. I also added a scratch built silo to the layout. This is just a video of some quick shots around the layout. During the filming of one of these videos in it the trolly bumper/barricade gave out and split into to pieces and the trolly ran off the track but is ok. So i am gluing it back together and will put a sponge to cusion the impact even thou it wasn't running fast. Comment and Enjoy. Keep the trains running!

Cars running include a Peter Witt Streetcar from Baltimore, Md., a freight locomotive from the Illinois Terminal Railroad, a Philadelphia PCC Trolley and a Baltimore PCC Trolley. The cars pick up power from the overhead wire and an automatic block system controls operations. The modular layout standards followed by the East Penn Traction Club were first proposed in 1969. The O Scale trolley modules of the East Penn Traction Club were set up at the Great Scale Train Show in Timonium, Md. on February 2 and 3, 2008. Cars running included a Baltimore Transit Co. "Peter Witt" trolley, Indiana Railroad highspeed car, Fonda, Johnstown & Gloversville RR. Bullet interurban car and PCC trolleys from Baltimore Transit Co. The club has models in O and HO scale as well as N Scale, G Scale and 1/2 inch scale. Here is the video you were waiting for... I completely redesigned my previous 4 x 8 foot layout to make a 4 x 7 foot layout. I also finally put it on a table and routed all the wiring to be more efficient. I am now running one oval of Lionel O36 Fastrack powered by a MTH Z1000 ZController. The Lionel, MTH, and Plasticville buildings are powered by 2 Lionel CW-80 Transformers. M&Ms Trolley is from MTH #30-4191. Most of the figures are Lionel Pewter Hand-painted sets. Disney figures and vehicles are from random sources. Curved tunnel is Model Power #6091. Steam Engine is MTH Tinplate Traditions #10-3002-1 plus 800 Series Freight Set #10-1042. Thanks for watching.

Tom loves to lash up 4 or 5 engines and will pull trains way in excess of 100 scale cars long (that's 17+ inches of coupler slack, and trains in excess of 170-200 feet long!) *Note he made the walls round (no corners) to conform to its outer 0192 degree radius. Here is a video of an Atlas O scale two rail SW9 switcher that I made into an Illinois Terminal SW1200. I have also installed a 567 Soundtraxx Tsunami decoder with a high bass speaker and LED's for headlights. This is my first experience with DCC and am not familiar with the different numbered buttons so please go easy on me. I think a couple of times I signaled reverse when going forward and hit the bell when wanting the horn.

The magic of electric trains circling the Christmas tree is captured here in this charming scene sponsored by MTH Electric Trains at Macy*s in New York City. As the kids line up to see Santa after his grand entry from the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade, they pass through a maze of dancing penguins, singing trees, and most, anticipated of all, the SMARTT / MTH layout. Three independent mainlines circle continuously as animated accessories of all sorts start and stop of their own accord. Snow covered peaks surrounding Santas workshop greet the happy guests as locomotives pull flatcars full of ornaments round the snowy expanse and across intricate trestle bridges. This video is a good example of of how our layout looks in action when set-up for the families who come to see us. An MTH N&W 'J' class northern pulls it's streamlined passenger cars behind it on the mainline. On the inner track, a fast freight consist of Lionel billboard reefers and a lone vat car ride the rails headed by a nicely detailed Lionmaster PRR T-1 Duplex. If you like to watch toy-trains-on-tracks, this is a great video!

On Thanksgiving, as I always do, I spent a long time operating my O scale trains on my layout to kick off the Christmas season. Also, to simulate the railroad's huge passenger loads over the holiday, I operate mixed trains, with freight cars and passenger cars on the same train. This makes for some unusual consists and sometimes a freight locomotive will pull a passenger train, which is a lot of fun for a change. The video starts out with my Lionel Santa Fe FT pulling a freight train, and my RailKing Amtrak Genesis with a 3-car Amtrak train. Then the Amtrak train changes direction, and an extra car is added, along with one freight car tacked on the end, and my Lionel BNSF SD70ACe starts to pull a huge mixed train, with three Santa Fe passenger cars and seven O27 freight cars. Next the Polar Express is placed on the inner loop as my SD70ACe continues to operate around the outer oval, still with its three Santa Fe coaches, one O27 freight car and three scale freight cars. The video ends with my last "Thanksgiving Rush" train, a seven-car Marx train pulled by my Lionel 242 steam locomotive. Also at the same time I operate my Toy State "Nutcracker Express" train as the Polar Express sits in the yard with smoke rolling out of the Berkshire's smokestack.

Hey Railfans!!! Just running my new MTH Rail king "Scale" MP15DC Diesel Switcher. Being a huge fan of the MTH Premier line, I was a bit skeptical when purchasing a Rail king engine. Much to my surprise, the Rail king "SCALE" is an extremely nice engine. Not only does it look and sound great, it runs excellent. I am very pleased with the engine and recommend it to anyone looking to buy a nice switcher. I hope you enjoy the video.
