The scope is a vintage (1970's era) Tektronix Model 475 Oscilloscope. The triggering on this scope is set to a level where it allows triggering of the sweep trace and allows the sweep, the electron beam tracing the line on the front of the CRT, to be in synchronism with the program audio. *For educational purposes* A Tektronix 465B oscilloscope demonstrates in real-time a mesmerizing Lissajous pattern created by the differences in phases and magnitudes existing between the left and right audio program channels. This was created by setting 465B 'scope to XY Display mode and then feeding the Left and Right channels from the PC's sound card into the oscilloscope's X and Y inputs.
