GraphicDesignNYC.net covers all aspects of the amazing NYC creative visual arts scene. One of the more curious works that we recently came across was an outdoor installation by New Jersey artist Dan Colen. "Cracks In The Clouds", is a challenging exhibit that rests in the plaza in front of the Seagram Building at 375 Park Avenue on 52nd Street. When passers by first see the piece it's understandable if they think it is more of an accident as opposed to a creative attempt. The reason being, as the video shows, one doesn't usually think of 13 Customized Harley Davidson Motorcycles toppled on their sides as a representation of art. But what is called art is often subjective to ones taste, so you make the call. Dan Colen has received mixed reviews from critics in the art community as seen in articles from ArtNet Magazine (bit.ly and in this one on one from Interview Magazine (bit.ly But the average person on the street seemed to find the creative display whimsical, ironic and intriguing. How a Giant Telescope Works

From ESOcast, explore the state-of-the-art technology behind the Very Large telescope, which has provided astronomers with an unequalled view of the Universe. To obtain the sharpest images of the sky, the VLT has to cope with two major effects that distort the images of celestial objects. The first one is mirror deformations due to their large sizes. This problem is corrected using a computer-controlled support system — active optics — that ensures that the mirrors keep their desired shapes under all circumstances. The second effect is produced by Earth's atmosphere, which makes stars appear blurry, even with the largest telescopes. Adaptive optics is a real-time correction of the distortions produced by the atmosphere using computer-controlled mirrors that deform hundreds of times per second to counteract the atmospheric effects. As one demonstration of its power the VLT's sensitive infrared cameras, helped by adaptive optics, have been able to peer through the massive dust clouds that block our view to Milky Way's core. The images, taken over many years, have allowed astronomers to actually watch stars orbiting around the monstrous black hole that lies in the center of our galaxy. It was even possible to detect energetic flares from gas clouds falling into the black hole.

Okay... so it's finally done after 35-40 hours. And I decided to upload first because I KNOW Nahaj will take forever to put his up. Maybe if he sees this, he'll upload it. My own personal favorite work. So if you guys hate it, well... dang. That sucks. :( This video is a hybrid of the styles of my Path of Despair, The Nightmare and My Apocalypse. Anyways, the story of this is really simple. The beginning is actually the end and Rukia asks Ichigo what happened to him during the battle. (About a year ago Nahaj had a similar idea, though mine is just very small.) It starts with the Hueco Mundo arc as he confronts Grimmjow during their second bout. This continues onto Ulquiorra, Yammy (shortly) and finally Aizen, the main macho man of the video, DIG IT! So then there's some emotional buildup about 60% in and we see that Aizen is as ruthless as ever, never having cared for his comrades, only seeking power. Gin's death is shown (which I feel is vital to showing Ichigo's growth from another's perspective) and Ichigo hears Zangetsu's wish before he confronts Aizen a final time. Another way to view this story is simply Ichigo and his ordeals throughout the second half of the series, as well as his development in power and in character. That would be the main focus. So everything is pretty chronological. Some of the dialogue was changed to suit the direction I took (aka me skipping certain parts of the story and trying to make sense of it) and that's pretty much it. No masking was <b>...</b>
