My Way played on the Yamaha PSR-S900
My version of the wonderful classic "My Way" played on the Yamaha PSR-S900. "My Way" is an English version of a French song. The English lyrics were written by Paul Anka and popularized by Frank Sinatra on his album My Way. The melody is that of the French song "Comme d'habitude" composed by Claude François and Jacques Revaux. Anka's English lyrics are unrelated to the original French by Claude François and Gilles Thibaut. The lyrics of "My Way" tell the story of a man who is nearing death. As he reflects on his life, he has few regrets for how he lived it, saying that, as he reviews the challenges hes faced, he is comfortable with and takes responsibility for how he dealt with all the ups and downs of his life while maintaining a respectable degree of integrity. Paul Anka heard the original 1967 French pop song, Comme d'habitude performed by Claude Francois with music by Jacques Revaux and lyrics by Gilles Thibault, while on holiday in the south of France. He flew to Paris to negotiate the rights to the song. In a 2007 interview, he said: "I thought it was a bad record, but there was something in it." He acquired publishing rights at no cost and, two years later, had a dinner in Florida with Frank Sinatra and "a couple of Mob guys" at which Sinatra said he was "quitting the business. I'm sick of it, I'm getting the hell out". Back in New York, Anka re-wrote the original French song for Sinatra, subtly altering the melodic structure and changing the lyrics: "At one o <b>...</b>

White Christmas played on the Yamaha PSR-S900
My little contribution to the Christmas spirit, White Christmas played on the Yamaha PSR-S900. To all the people that have commented as well as subscribed, and to the people I have subscibed to. A Very Merry Christmas. "White Christmas" is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting. The version sung by Bing Crosby is assumed to be the best selling single of all time. Berlin wrote the song in 1940, poolside at the Builtmore hotel in Phoenix AZ. He often stayed up all night writing — he told his secretary, "Grab your pen and take down this song. I just wrote the best song I've ever written — hell, I just wrote the best song that anybody's ever written!" The first public performance of the song was also by Crosby, on his NBC radio show The Kraft Music Hall on Christmas Day, 1941; the recording is not believed to have survived. He recorded the song with the John Scott Trotter Orchestra and the Ken Darby Singers for Decca Records in just 18 minutes on May 29, 1942, and it was released on July 30 as part of an album of six 78-rpm songs from the film Holiday Inn. At first, Crosby did not see anything special about the song. He just said "I don't think we have any problems with that one, Irving." The song initially performed poorly and was overshadowed by the film's first hit song: "Be Careful, It's my Heart". My version of 'Memory' from the musical 'Cats', played on my Yamaha PSR-S900. Cats is a musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by TS Eliot. It introduced the song standard "Memory." The musical first opened in the West End in 1981 and then on Broadway in 1982, in each case directed by Trevor Nunn and choreographed by Gillian Lynne. It won numerous awards, including both the Laurence Olivier Award and the Tony Award for Best Musical. The London production ran for 21 years and the Broadway production for eighteen years, in both cases setting historical long-run records. Actresses Elaine Paige and Betty Buckley became particularly associated with the musical. One actress, Marlene Danielle, performed in the Broadway production for its entire run (from 1982 until 2000). Cats has been performed around the world in numerous productions and has been translated into more than 20 languages. It was also made into a 1998 video that has been broadcast on television.

Happy Easter everyone. Easter Parade played on the Yamaha PSR-S900 Easter Parade is a popular song that was written by Irving Berlin and was published in 1933. The lyrics describe the singer's involvement in an American cultural event called the Easter parade. The song was introduced by Marilyn Miller and Clifton Webb in the Broadway musical revue As Thousands Cheer (1933), in which musical numbers were strung together on the thematic thread of newspaper headlines. It was repeated in Holiday Inn (1942), which featured an Irving Berlin song about each major holiday. In 1948, it was featured in the musical film of the same title, which was constructed around it. The song was also featured in the Rankin/Bass special The First Easter Rabbit in 1976 and has since become a standard. Berlin originally wrote the melody in 1916, under the title Smile and Show Your Dimple. The song flopped but the composer filed away the melody for later use. The song is often considered to be one of the most popular Easter songs of all time, along with Peter Cottontail.

My verson of 'Unchained Melody' The last portion of the video from time 2.06 shows pictures of the wonderful state of Tasmania, Australia..my home...please enjoy "Unchained Melody" is a popular song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. It is one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, by some counts having spawned over 500 versions in hundreds of different languages. In 1955, North used the music as a theme for the obscure prison film Unchained. Todd Duncan, the baritone who performed in the original Porgy and Bess, sang the vocals for the film soundtrack "Unchained Melody" reappeared on the Billboard charts in 1990 after The Righteous Brothers' recording was used in the box office blockbuster film Ghost. Two versions charted in the US that year. There was the reissue of the 1965 original Righteous Brothers single which received a lot of airplay, but sales were minimal since it was only available as a 45 RPM single. Finale 2010 INTERFACE with Yamaha PSR S-900 Keyboard, Piano Lesson
This video shows you how to transfer a midi file that you created with some type of music notation software such as Finale over to the PSR S 900 Yamaha keyboard. Once the midi file is in the Yamaha keyboard then you can cause the midi file to appear as standard music notation in the keyboard screen. Also, you can play a duet with the song as it plays as a midi file. The demonstration song is an easy beginner's piano song that I wrote called, "A Funny Little Smile".
