Video of me on my Lucky Strike GSXR600 K5 at Portimao this year with Focused Events. My own camera broke on the first day so had to hire one, so i played around with some of the angles! Also had a few off track moments! Am riding with my mates on a HM Plant Honda CBR600rr and a red, white and black Honda CBR600rr.

Hottrax Track events - I think the video says it all! Love the track, first time here. There's plenty to keep a rider entertained, I'll return in September for pt 2 (and yes I was missing too many apex's) on the plus side, I've memorized all the corners. Motoland here we come!!

The video starts just after the outlap so I was still not 100% on my tyres. I generally did a couple before really trusting them. I missed loads of apex's (some by about a mile!). It was the last session of the three days so I was knackered. I reckon this was about my third best session. Just the fact that I started in Novices on the first day (and I'm on my old commuter - Honda CBR600F), I was dead chuffed to be hanging on to people in the Intermediates group and onto bigger and better suited bikes. To catch and pass some made my day. It was also the first time I'd got my knee planted so a good trip all round for me. :D If you don't want to watch it all then my overtakes are at 2'25 and 7'35. ps Thanks to "RSVMan" for filming me on his MV Augusta 312R. Next time it'd be nice if he cleaned the lens first ;)

Hottrax Track Day event, April 2011. Novice Group. Lapping Park Algar on a CBR600RR (2005). Bog standard engine and suspension. Akrapovic pipe with mapped Power Commander III. Michelin Power One (treaded) tyres. My first knee-down experience. My son, Mike, was also there in the same group and we had a whale of a time. Our lap times won't spark any interest in the WSB paddock but, as hobbies go, this is the one for us. Enjoy.

Eficiência Energética - Central Fotovoltaica Parkalgar
Inaugurada no dia 18 de Fevereiro de 2011, esta central fotovoltaica, instalada no Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, resulta de uma parceria entre a Galp Energia ea Efacec. Possui uma potência instalada de 100 kW e proporciona uma produção anual de energia eléctrica de 157.000 kWh/ano, o que equivale a uma redução de emissões de gases para a atmosfera com efeito de estufa de 74 ton CO2/ano. A construção desta central está enquadrada num projeto integrado de eficiência energética, desenvolvido especificamente para satisfazer as necessidades do Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. O projeto envolve auditorias energéticas e medidas de racionalização, uma central solar térmica para aquecimento de águas, uma central solar fotovoltaica para produção de energia eléctrica e pontos de carga para automóveis eléctricos. Este projeto é um caso exemplar das vantagens de uma oferta combinada de energia e eficiência energética. A Galp Energia, através da Galp Soluções de Energia (área vocacionada para a implementação de soluções tecnológicas e serviços integrados de eficiência energética) vem assim satisfazer todas as necessidades do Autódromo a este nível através do fornecimento de combustíveis líquidos, gás e energia eléctrica.
