Beethoven Pathetique Sonata 2nd Movement Schnabel Rec. 1934

Schnabel's performances of the slow movements of Beethoven's Sonatas were without peer. In this recording, there is no moonstruck sentimentality. The mood is is one of somber reflection.

Spectrogram of Beethoven's "Sonata Pathétique"

Spectrogram of Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13 (1st mvt.), commonly known as Sonata Pathétique. A spectrogram allows you to see precisely which frequencies (on the y axis, displaying up to 4000 Hz) are present in the recoring around any given moment (on the x axis). You can see bright base tones, which correspond to the piano keys, and dimmer overtones transposed above them. This is a very descriptive way to visualize sound. In fact, it contains enough information to make a (somewhat poor) reconstruction of the sound just from the image. Made with custom software.

BEETHOVEN, PATHETIQUE SONATA 2ND MOV

A must watch performance of Pathetique Sonata by Ludwig Van Beethoven. I hope you guys enjoy this! This has to be one of my favorite Beethoven pieces he ever composed. it's interesting because this piano solo is composed in a way that could make it playable by a string quartet! My goals for this Beethoven piano piece was to high light the main voice in the 1st theme, bring out the left hand when it changes to repeated chords, then bring out the LH on the return to the theme. At the change then I tried to make a conversation of the RH and LH almost like a fighting husband and wife as they interrupt eachother. (I got the interrupting concept from Mr Edward Parker) then, on the return Beethoven uses triplets, So to make each theme different I bring out the triplets more than you normally would in a middle voice, but here I feel it's appropriate. Then, the ending is a soft "good night" The piece came out exactly how I wanted it ^_^

Ashkenazy plays Beethoven "Grande Sonate pathétique" (I)

Sonata No.8 in C minor, op.13, Grande Sonate pathétique, composed in 1798, first published in Vienna by Eder in 1799 (initial pages seen on the video), dedicated to Prince Karl Lichnowsky. Some sources attribute the title to Beethoven himself, while others state that the title was given by the publisher of the sonata, who was so impressed by its tragic sonorities that he proposed Beethoven the name pathétique, and to Beethoven's choice, it was named "Grande Sonate pathétique". Beethoven - Sonata No 8 'Pathetique' (Adagio Cantabile)

The second movement of the Pathetique sonata from Ludwig van Beethoven. I performed this after 2 years of learning playing piano (from the scratch). It took me more than 6 months to lead this song to this stage. The most difficult was playing legato, and exposing the higher notes from the chords. Needless to say, the performance is not perfect yet, but with a time I hope to improve this piece even more. The current result I leave solely for your judgment.

Arrangement: Daisuke Minamizawa Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven This arrangement comes from the renowned guitarist, Daisuke Minamizawa, in his book "Melodies of Solo Guitar vol.7: Classic". Check out his YouTube/website for more info! www.youtube.com www.bsvmusic.com What a sad and tragic song. It has some spectacular moments musically. When playing or listening, it is easy to become emotional; this composition is soothing and introspective.
