Killing Joke - "Wardance" (Peel Session)

A faster, leaner version of Killing Joke's most powerful song, "Wardance". Recorded in 1979 for John Peel's Radio 1 show at Maida Vale studios. According to the liner notes, Youth believed this version was superior to the 1980 album version. Original lineup forever. ~ The atmosphere's strange Out on the town Music for pleasure? It's not music no more Music to dance to... Music to move? This is music to march to! Do a wardance A wardance Look at graffiti Scrawled on the wall You know the reason Outside the door You know something... Nasty in your mind! Crawling to get out Do a wardance A wardance We open the pitch Honesty is sick! Try to be honest Look what you get The food runs short... And then the money talks One way out Your premonition is correct A wardance

New Order - Dreams never end (Peel Sessions)

My promise could be your fiend A given end to your dreams A simple movement or rhyme Could be the smallest of signs We'll never know what they are or care In it's escapable view There's no escape so few in fear Give in a changing value To be given your sight Hid in a long peaceful night A nervous bride for your eyes A fractured smile that soon dies A love that's wrong from your life and soul A savage mine had begun Hello, farewell to your love and soul Hello, farewell to your soul Now I know what those hands would do No looking back now, we're pushing through We'll change these feelings, we'll taste and see But never guess how the him would scream But never guess how the him would scream But never guess how the him would scream

Joy Division Love will tear us apart BBC version

HD version available at cargocollective.com The earliest recorded version of the song produced as a John Peel Session for the BBC in 1979.The original band footage is a mixture of a performance video shot by the band for the single release (minus the damaged shots) and live concert excerpts from Plank, Brussels and the Apollo, Manchester. . We needed to do some tricky retiming and editing to sync it up with the footage which is from completely different versions of the song. Odd to discover that much of the original performance video done for the single release wasn't edited properly with much of the shots of the band playing not cut accurately to the audio.

Thin Lizzy - Emerald (Peel Sessions '76)

Lyrics & Information A superb studio session of Emerald. A song about the ancient wars over Ireland. Really got a great raw feel from this. It is like listening to a live version without audience clapping/cheering. Taken from the 'More Peel Sessions' disc. Enjoy! Lyrics :- Down from the glen came the marching men With their shields and their swords To fight the fight they believed to be right And overthrow the overlords To the towns where there was plenty They brought plunder, sword and flame When they left the town was empty And children would never play again From their graves I heard the fallen Above the battle cry By that bridge near the border There were many more to die Then onward over the mountain And outward towards the sea They had come to claim the Emerald! Without it they could not leave (Awesome solo/outro/ending)
