Ebrahim Hamedi (Persian: ابراهیم حامدی, born June 19, 1949) better known by his stage name Ebi, is a famous Persian singer. Being one of the most popular and enduring singers of Iran. he's usually noted for his unique voice and is considered by many to be the best Iranian Pop singer. Having started his career over 30 years ago, he is a well established star with fans all over the world. His voice, and his choice of songs has won him awards all around the world,such as "Master of Voice" in 1993 with the song "Persian Gulf" in Australia. Early life: Ebi was born in Tehran, Iran. He is the eldest child of his family and has four sisters and one brother. He started his career as a young teenager with a band called the Sun Boys Together they made many public appearances with relative success. After a few years he started his solo career with a song called "Attash" for a movie with the same title. He started his own style and from the beginning he showed that he is a talented singer and a star the newly developed Iranian Pop music can depend on. His third song, "Shab" (Night) is the song Ebi himself agrees made him a star. The song's lyrics were written by Ardalan Sarfaraz, one of Iran's most famous songwriters. The song was first heard by people on Fereydoun Farrokhzad's show, "Mikhake Noghreyi". The popularity of Fereydon Farokhzad's show immediately made Ebi very popular for the Iranian people. Googoosh(Persian: گوگوش) born, Faegheh Atashin(Persian: فائقه آتشین, May 5, 1950) is an iconic and famous Persian singer, actress, and diva. With a succesfull career spanning five decades, Googoosh has sold millions of albums, has played sold out arenas around the world and is a household name. In the 1970s, Googoosh was considered the most celebrated recording artist in Iran.[1] In addition to music, Googoosh was also an actress in many Persian films of the 1960s and 1970s. She is more widely known as a singer than as an actress. After the Iranian Revolution in 1979 she remained in Iran until 2000 but did not record or perform again due to the ban on solo female singers. Still, her following grew. Younger people have rediscovered her music via bootleg recordings of her music.[2] Outside of Iran, she has a significant following in many Middle Eastern and Central Asian countries,[3] and currently resides in Los Angeles, California[4] and continues her career, albeit in a limited manner.Googoosh was born 'Faegheh Atashin' on 5 May 1950[5] on Sarcheshmeh Street, in an old, worn-down part of Tehran.
