Unfortunately Peterbilt decided to stop producing model 379 trucks a while ago. Since the 379 is a die hard truck they came out with the Legacy Edition trucks. 1000 trucks had been upgraded in luxury, power, and style to stand out from the rest of the Peterbilt 379 fleet of trucks. Now that those trucks are sold, no more 379's will be produced. This video is a tribute to all model 379 trucks. Peterbilt logging truck with VERY LOUD PIPES!
Driver Jeff Tellefsen leaves a sort yard in Mission BC headed for Washington state with a load of fir logs. Truck is a 1999 Peterbilt with an 18 spd. transmission and 550 HP caterpillar engine. If you have a bass speaker to your sound system,this will sound amazing like you are sitting on the back of the load.

Dirt Road Trucking, Peterbilt
I had plans to do a spoof episode of Ice Road Truckers called Dirt Road Truckers but will probably never get around to it so instead of letting all these clips go to waste, I strung them together to demonstrate what a typical trip to the local elevator looks like. It's not ice I know, but hauling out of the field on turnrows and dirt roads has its share of perils for a 120K pound truck! Thankfully I don't have any pictures of that. This is the 2008 Sorghum crop, music is Jack Ingram's 'Keep on Keeping on'.

12v71 powered Peterbilt 359 with straight pipes! LOUD!
This is a friend of ours peterbilt that i got to ride in. It's a 1975 Peterbilt 359 and it's powered with a 12v-71N non turbo and a RTO-12513 tranny and has 5:29 rear ends.. This has 6" straight stacks on it. Yes, it has true dual stacks on it, no Y-Pipe.

I have owned multiple trucks over the past 12 years, and they have always been for work work work. I have always wanted to have a truck just for fun that I could fix up and didn't have to worry about it getting messed up on the logging roads and things. So I finally found a deal I couldn't pass up on this 1994 Peterbilt 379 3 axle daycab in fairly decent shape. So I bought it for $6500. Well I wanted it to be maneuverable as possible, and wanted to be able to park it in a regular parking spot, and wanted to be able to blast on by open truck inspection and weigh stations, and I wanted eventually to be able to take it around to car and truck shows just for fun. So I decided to make it into a pickup truck. What you see here is a work in progress. It still has a LOT of work before it is anywhere close to what I want it to be, but this is the progress I've made in what little time I've had over the past 4 and a half months. I only just recently got the pickup bed for it, so that's why it's not painted to match the cab and hood yet. But as soon as I get a chance, the bed is going to be painted black like the rest of the truck. So all I've done to it so far is: Shortened the frame and removed one of the drive axles, shaved the air horns and cab lights off the roof, mounted the drop visor with cab lights mounted in it, installed the straight miter cut 6 inch stacks, and painted it, then put the bed on. It needs a new bumper, and all of the aluminum polished, and the interior <b>...</b>

Polishing Peterbilt Rims
Over the winter, the salt from the roads really dulled out the finish on the rims and tanks. I spent whatever time I could find, to start polishing them back to a brillant shine. I use WAB aluminum polish. www.truckeratk.com

WSI GALBREATH ROLL-OFF PETERBILT TRASH TRUCK IN ACTION on 9-25-09
From what the WSI driver told me about this truck chassis: This truck is a 2003 Peterbilt model 357: PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE THIS MODEL WITH THE 379 CAUSE THE BONNET HOOD IS MUCH TALLER & LONGER & is basically an OVER-THE-ROAD TRUCK for OWNER-OPERATORS!!!!! Btw, this Pete is powered by a Caterpillar C-15 diesel engine with 550hp/1850ftlbs of torque backed by an Eaton Fuller (10 speed I think) manual transmission. Power is driven through Spicer's driveshaft back to the 40000 lb Eaton tandem rear drive axles sitting on Hendrickson's walking beam suspension! The non-driving front steer axle is also made by Eaton,(don't know how many lbs)!! The weird thing is that I guessed some of the drivetrain specs & he said that I'm right, lol,......WOW!!! Unfortunately, this truck doesn't have a Jake Break, but he said there is another Pete from the WSI fleet that does!! The Pete357 is mainly for applications involving Waste, Construction, Municipallities & other on/off highway applications! The driver was totally awesome for me to take these shots & has been working for WSI for many years & loves his job!! He also told me that he collects models of Garbage Trucks from the 40s & onwards & upwards!!! WOW, LOL!!!! I even told him about GARBAGE TRUCKS on YOU TUBE!!!!
