When you watch this music video you can see where I worked on the oil rig and road my bike on Santa Monica pier all the time. Wonderful times were spent in Malibu, as well. I use to play at the Malibu Inn and spend much time with my dogs on the beaches and canyons. We shot the performance at SIR in Nashville, with Slim Stephenson (bass), Mike Pachelli (acoustic guitar), Carrie Glenn (Hammond B3) and Joe Dorn (drums). This song is from my new album "Life's An Illusion." I was inspired by the southern California theme where I lived for over 20 years. I directed and edited this music video. Shot with Canon 5Dmkii and Canon T2i, as well as, minimal 35mm film from my Arri IIC. Lens used included Zeiss Compact Primes CP2 and Canon L Series lenses. Amy Lynn Larwig (makeup artist). Jared Ruso (camera operator), Brett Pausina (camera operator) for stage shots. I shot the other footage, with the exception of a few clips of stock footage. The actress is Cristal Cox. Surfing, southern California and the Santa Monica Pier are predominant in the narrative of this video. I found myself missing California while making this video. The most likely category for my music in terms of radio genres would be adult album alternative or Triple A. I can loosely be categorized as Americana Rock 'n Roll, or Neo-Classic Rock. MANÁ is a popular pop/rock band from Guadalajara, Jalisco whose career has spanned more than three decades. They have earned three Grammy Awards, five Latin Grammy Awards, 5 MTV Video Music Awards Latin America, three Premios Juventud awards, nine Billboard Latin Music Awards and 12 Premios Lo Nuestro awards. Their sound has been described as drawing on pop rock, Latin pop, calypso, reggae and ska. They initially received international commercial success in Australia and Spain and have since gained popularity and exposure in the US, Western Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. They have sold more than 22 million albums. Early history The group was formed in 1978 by José Fernando "Fher" Olvera (vocalist), Gustavo Orozco (electric guitar) and the Calleros Brothers: Juan Diego (bass), Ulises (electric guitar) and Abraham Calleros (drums). They initially formed to play cover versions of songs by artists they admired. They called themselves The Green Hat Spies, but soon shortened this to Green Hat, and then, focusing on their Latin roots and Spanish-language repertoire, to Sombrero Verde (the Spanish translation of Green Hat).
