Blwyddyn I Heno : Welsh song by Ceredwen

Blwyddyn I Heno means A Year from This Day. It tells about Pwyll, a hero in Welsh' Mabinogion. In one of his hunting trip, Pwyll offended Arawn, the Lord of Annwn (Welsh Underworld). To make up for it, Pwyll agreed to help Arawn killed his rival, Havgan. They changed places and shapes for a year, and so Pwyll was known with the title Pen Annwn, "Lord of Beyond."

Goddess Rhiannon ~ Faerie Queen

This video features a slideshow of artwork depicting the pastimes of the Celtic Goddess. It is set to the atmospheric ambient music of New age composer Llewellyn featuring vocals by Juliana. Rhiannon is Celtic/ Welsh Goddess of the earth and fertility, of horses and birds and inspiration and moon. Another Name of Rhiannon is Epona. The Story of Rhiannon and Pwyll (Paul) follows..... Upon ascending the magical mound of Gorsedd Aberth, the Demetian king Pwyll ( Paul) witnesses the arrival of Rhiannon, appearing to them as a beautiful woman dressed in gold silk brocade and riding a shining white horse. Pwyll sends his best horsemen after her, but she always remains ahead of them, though her horse never does more than amble. After three days, he finally calls out to her, and Rhiannon tells him she has come seeking him because she would rather marry him than her fiancé, Gwawl ap Clud. A year after their meeting, Pwyll accidentally and foolishly promises Rhiannon to Gwawl, before managing to win her back through outwitting, bloodying and dishonouring his rival. Rhiannon riding in Arberth. From The Mabinogion, translated by Lady Charlotte Guest, 1877 Under the advice of his noblemen, Pwyll and Rhiannon attempt to supply an heir to the kingdom and eventually a boy is born. However, on the night of his birth, he disappears while in the care of six of Rhiannon's ladies-in-waiting. To avoid the king's wrath, the ladies smear dog's blood onto a sleeping Rhiannon, claiming that she ...

Rhiannon Goddess!

This is for promotional purposes only. DISCLAIMER: All images belong to the their rightful owners. The credit is theirs alone. Absolutely no copyright infringement intended. Music Copyright : Eliseo Mauas Pinto I composed this tune on praise of the Annwn, which is the "Otherworld" in Welsh mythology. Ruled by Arawn, or much later by Gwyn ap Nudd, it was essentially a world of delights and eternal youth where disease is absent and food is ever-abundant. It later became Christianised and identified with the land of souls that had departed this world. In the First Branch of the Mabinogi, entitled Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed, the eponymous prince offends Arawn, ruler of Annwn, by baiting his hunting hounds on a stag that Arawn's dogs had brought down. In recompense he exchanges places with Arawn for a year and defeats Arawn's enemy Hafgan. Meanwhile, Arawn rules Dyfed. During this year, Pwyll does not sleep with Arawn's wife, earning himself gratitude from Arawn. On his return, Pwyll becomes known by the title Penn Annwn, "Head (or Ruler) of Annwn." In Culhwch and Olwen, an early Welsh Arthurian tale, it is said God gave Gwyn ap Nudd control over the demons lest "this world be destroyed." He led the Wild Hunt. A Christian story tells of the Welsh Saint Collen entering Gwyn's palace to banish him with holy water. The early medieval Welsh poem Preiddeu Annwfn ("The Spoils of Annwn"), found in the Book of Taliesin, describes how King Arthur leads an expedition to Annwn to seek a ...

Stevie Nicks - Lady from the mountain - Downloadable

This is a rock a little outtake (1986). You can download this version of the song from here: www.mediafire.com Some call her Strange lady from the mountains Well, yes, and others say she's not really real Like a candle burns bright And it wants to burn faster Well, maybe then, at least, she really feels She really feels You love her But you love your life alone as well But do you know the road Or the reasons why Well, if you leave her You'd be losing the chance to stay alive Well, the candle burns bright Then the candle dies Burning from the middle Like a candle Burning, burning Hopefully learning So go with her You know that you want her Think you could use a dreamer I think somewhere on your side And maybe If that woman could make you crazy Did she call out, did she say, "Please save me" Woah, tonight She says, "Tonight" Tonight Burning, burning, burning Something 'bout... Well, I could make you crazy Do you need a dreamer? You could use a dreamer I could use a dreamer Oh, yeah, make you crazy, oh, yeah Burning, burning Ooh, oh Some do call her Strange lady from the mountains Yes, and others say she's not really real Really real Yes, she is really real Ooh, burning, burning Did you know that you're burning Burning out... WEBMISTRESS speculates: I like this song. Stevie is the "lady of the mountain," of course, as she is in Sorcerer. She lives a fast lifestyle, and though it causes her to "burn bright," it also takes a toll. Still, this is the only way she knows how to ...

Spring Equinox .....Gwyl Canol Gwenwynol

The Druids Prayer The Druid's Prayer (Welsh: Gweddi'r Derwydd) or "Gorsedd Prayer" (Gweddi'r Orsedd) is a prayer composed by Iolo Morgannwg which is still a staple in the ritual of both gorseddau and Neo-Druidism. Neo-Druids sometimes substitute the words y Dduwies ("the Goddess") for the original Duw ("God"). The castle stands on a rocky hill some eighty feet above Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris in the Llanberis Pass and is listed as a World Heritage Site. Constructed by the legendary Llywellyn the Great (Llywellyn ap Iorwerth) before 1230 to guard the main route through the Snowdonia mountain ranges, its position at the tip of Llyn Padarn allowed the garrison to blockade any movement through that part of the north. Rhiannon: Song by Ceredwen

I had uploaded a song titled "Rhiannon" before, but that was sung by Juliana and composed by Llewelyn. This time, it is composed and sung by my favorite Welsh duo, Ceredwen. Rhiannon was a Welsh horse goddess who married Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed. When their son, Prydery, was abudcted, her maids accused her for murdering her own son. She was then punished by having to sit near the castle's gate and telling her 'crime' to the guests, before carrying them on her back to the palace. Her own son, Prydery, finally cleansed her name and released her from her punishment. Personally, I like this version better because it has more mystical tone in it.

Rhiannon (song by Llewelyn and Juliana)

Beautiful song about Rhiannon, the Welsh Goddess of Horse. In myth, she is an otherwordly beauty who captured the heart of Pwyll, a human lord. After they married and have a son, the baby was snatched by a mysterious giant, and Rhiannon's maids accused her to killed her own son. Prydery banished her outside the castle, and made her serve as a 'horse' for every guest who came to the castle

Celtic Prog Rock with Classical Elements by Band of Rain / Chris Gill (guitars, bass) and Rainer Struck (keys / orchestral sounds). Graphic Art by Rainer Struck (2010). In Welsh mythology Rhiannon is the name of a queen, a daughter of Hefeydd. She figures in the first and third Branches of the Mabinogion. In the first part, she is married to Pwyll, in the third part to Manawydan. Scholars of comparative mythology have compared her to the horse goddess Epona of Gallo-Roman religion. (Wikipedia)
