I totally want the studio version of this song so I decided that while waiting for it that I would make my own "sort-of" studio version. I used the track from her performance and mixed it with Duffy's instrumental. Hopefully this will help to tide people over while we wait for the official studio version.

I think this is the best so far and really reminds me of Mc Almont and Butler together especially the last Bring It Back album , very Spector / Roy Wood type of production on some of that as well. This could easily have been a song written for McAlmont , see my version where Ive altered the voice track a little about that , I think it would be great if McAlmont did a version and Duffy did a version of an earlier McAlmont and Butler track ... maybe falling or you do / or even yes. :)

Just love the camerman doing his "air guitar" with his camera in the outro at 5.40 ish : ) Nice version of Distant Dreamer from Glastonbury , I love the way Duffys band sound and this version has some cool Bernard Buler type guitar going on especially after Duffy leaves the stage in the outro , best version so far in my opinion other than Mc Almonts of course. Great that the backing guitarist had his Glastonbury moment front of stage at the end and Im still hoping we might yet see a McAlmont / Butler / Duffy live set sometime .....lol.... This song needs a bit of Mc Almont Enjoy it . One of my most loved songs of this year a classic that maybe they are saving for the xmas charts?

If you dont know McAlmont and Butler watch a couple of my other videos See the video sub titles for full details but when I first heard the new Duffy track .. Distant Dreamer it reminded me of McAlmont and Butler songs , not quite so strange when her Song Writer , Producer , guitarist and all round musical guru is Bernard Butler . I wondered what this would have sounded like if it had been written for McAlmont instead who is also an amazing singer who just sounded so right with Butlers "wall of sound" type of production and sixties style of songwriting. So... I removed the middle mix and dropped it down 3 semitones and a little more , cleaned up the remaining backing track as best as I could then dropped that down the same amount keeping as much as possible without distorting too much the tempo and beat. I had to add a bit of flanging to keep from getting too scratchy but when I reinserted the altered vocal the results were spooky , it could almost be Mc Almont himself . Just a bit of fun hope you enjoyed it I had a lot of fun messing with it , its a great song as always from Bernard Butler and Duffy Please check out my other McAlmont and Butler videos theres some great stuff espec The Johnathon Ross live where Bernard matches McAlmonts "over the top" vocals like for like with his impromptu guitar work at the end , its a real classic performance. The Graham Norton live version of Falling is also worth <b>...</b>
