
Went to the Red Wing Shoe Store in West Melbourne, FL to discuss the disintegrating sole on a pair of steel-toed boots I bought about 3 years ago on a trip through Chicago. I wanted to see if it is a common occurrence and if I could get them re-soled. Store manager Howard Breines was rude, combative, claimed I probably bought them on eBay or found them on the street and I should send them to corporate so they could analyze what I did to make that happen, that I was probably cleaning pools (I don't, but I guess their shoes melt around chlorine). I wrote down the corporate return address and told Howard I'd also let them know about his attitude. He responded that he had cameras recording everything, insinuating I was going to lie. Worst customer experience I've had in a long, long time. I'll never buy Red Wing again and hope my experience gets wide exposure. I guess I should have just stopped in the nearest Wal-Mart rather than hunt down a Red Wing Shoe Store.
