The StreetPass NYC meetup group and its members launched an invasion of the annual New York Comic-Con this year, not brandishing swords or weapons of any other kind, but Nintendo 3DS systems and our very ready bodies (approved by the Regginator). We were out and about, checking out the various booths around the Jacob Javits Center while tagging each other and also other con-goers via the StreetPass function on the Nintendo 3DS. The group was also promoted very much around the Nintendo booth area and some people came away very satisfied to know that there was a fun group where they could StreetPass with others, chat about games and have fun! The only dark cloud we had looming was the actual number of people who turned out for NYCC, especially on Saturday. We planned to have our Nintendo cosplay gathering at the Nintendo booth but due to the widespread buzz of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Pokemon Rumble Blast and other great Nintendo titles coupled with the huge crowd of Nintendo fans in the booth at once, there just wasn't enough space for us to have a gathering. Next year? Definitely. We also met some high-level figures in the gaming industry and presented them with StreetPass Network t-shirts. Yoshinori Ono (famed Street Fighter producer) and Katsuhiro Harada (famed Tekken producer) were very gracious to receive our gifts to them and are very happy to be acknowledged by the entire StreetPass Network community.
