Gary Rego, Corpus Christis head boy, who recently lost three of his school mates in a horrific car accident, launched a tirade at the schools administration during his graduation dinner speech. The three students -- Rosy White, Brayden de la Nougerede and James Klessens died when their car hit a tree in Riverton on August 29. Another Corpus Christi student, Adam Johnson, was seriously injured in the crash. Gary Rego, 16, told Corpus Christi students and parents at the Sunday night ceremony, "It's really sad for us that at this emotional moment of our graduation dinner, our principal, Vaughan Sadler, should be holidaying and watching cricket in a faraway land," His anger was directed at both the Principal Vaughan Sadler and Vice Principal Sue Baker. The school has organized with the Curriculum Council for him to sit his exams at another location because of students'reactions to what he had said. "In the interests of all students, and that includes Gary, we are requesting he take his tertiary entrance exams at a venue other than the college," Dr Baker said. "The reason for that is we need to provide a safe and good learning environment for our students when they sit the exams, Gary included. "He hasn't been expelled, he's still enrolled with us as a student," she said.

Paula Figueiroa Rego (Lisboa, 1935) es una pintora e ilustradora portuguesa. Paula Rego nació en Lisboa dentro de una familia adinerada durante los años del régimen de Salazar, lo que quizás fuera una primera influencia para sus posteriores personajes, siniestros y dominantes. Enviada a estudiar a St Julian's School, Carcavelos, Portugal después ingresó en la prestigiosa Slade School of Art de Londres, donde fue alumna de William Coldstream.[1] En la Slade School conoció al también artista Victor Willing, con quien contrajo matrimonio. Ambos dividieron su tiempo entre Portugal e Inglaterra hasta 1975, cuando se trasladó definitivamente a las islas británicas. En 1988 Willing muere después de sufrir durante años de esclerosis múltiple. Suegra de Ron Mueck esta le influirá para pasar de sus trabajos en empresas de efectos especiales al arte dentro de las galerías. En 1989 entró en la lista de candidatos al premio Turner y en 2005 se le concedió el grado de doctor honoris de letras por la Universidad de Oxford.
