At the 2006 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the south of England, Renault Formula One engineers connected a computer to the engine after the car had come back from running up the hill. This is one of several 'songs' the engine can perform by varying the fuel input and engine RPM. Apart from 'God Save the Queen' (performed in the video), the engine can do 'We are the Champions', and the Spanish and French national anthems. Enjoy!

Just like its predecessor, Renault CAPTUR defines the simple, sensuous and warm style that will be progressively extended to future Renault car designs. "CAPTUR is a fun and sporty crossover, ideal for a young couple about to discover the world" explains director of design, Laurens Van den Acker. "It takes as its basis the fundamental design language introduced on the DeZir concept car but adds a more technical dimension -- more functional but still highly sensuous," adds Axel Breun, director of concept cars. A crossover that's all muscle in motion In its proportions and fluid curves, Renault CAPTUR evokes movement and lightness, yet at the same time displaying powerful and muscular all-terrain cues. Just as with DeZir, angles, corners and lines have given way to sensuous and natural forms. For the exterior designer, Julio Lozano, the main sources of inspiration were athletes and radical sports. "In designing CAPTUR, I began with the image of a sprinter on the starting blocks, his muscles tensed, and the energy unleashed when the starting pistol is fired," he explains. The design also references equipment such as helmets, gloves and other protective gear used in radical sports, combining high technology with sophistication and lightness. Renault CAPTUR adopts the new frontal identity first presented by DeZir. Renault Espace F1. Driven by Eric Bernard 1995.
This was on a old VHS tape I had recorded in 1995 from the Discovery Channel. I have cleaned up the audio & cropped the video. In 1995, Renault displayed a show car called the Espace F1 (created by Matra) to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Espace and Renault's involvement in Formula One racing. It was based on a V10-powered Williams Formula 1 racing car with an Espace J63 body reinforced with lightweight carbon-fibre instead of the glass fibre of the standard model. The Renault-Williams engine powered it from 0200 km/h (0124 mph) in 6 seconds, and helped by the carbon-ceramic brakes, it did 0270 km/h (0168 mph) and back to 0 in under 600 metres (1969 ft). This version of the Espace was featured in the driving simulator, Gran Turismo 2.
