Chinese Authorities Lose Control as Village Revolts

For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ me.lt As we've been telling you this week, tens of thousands of villagers are protesting in Wukan, in Guangdong Province. Now the situation has become a standoff as villagers have kicked out both local officials and police. That came after the suspicious death of one villager in police custody. Here's the latest. The over twenty-thousand residents of the village of Wukan in south China's Guangdong Province have expelled all local Communist Party authorities, including police, and blocked road access to the village. The British newspaper The Telegraph was able to get a journalist on the ground in Wukan on Tuesday. Malcom Moore called the current incident the first time on record that the Party has "lost all control" in a situation of "open revolt." This marks the latest escalation in an ongoing confrontation between villagers and local Communist Party officials they've called corrupt and abusive. For three months, Wukan residents have been staging occasional large-scale protests against a longstanding series of abuses committed by local Party officials. The villagers' biggest grievance was corrupt officials profiting from illegally selling the villagers' land. The current intensified protest, including the expelling of all police and officials, came after the death in Party custody of Xue Jinbo. He was a Wukan resident who had served as a negotiator with authorities ...

BBC - In the footsteps of Alexander (army revolts) 26

In the footsteps of Alexander The Great East of Porus's kingdom, near the Ganges River (hellenic version of the Indian name Ganga), was the powerful Nanda Empire of Magadha and Gangaridai Empire of Bengal. Fearing the prospects of facing other powerful Indian armies and exhausted by years of campaigning, his army mutinied at the Hyphasis River (the modern Beas River) refusing to march further east. As for the Macedonians, however, their struggle with Porus blunted their courage and stayed their further advance into India. For having had all they could do to repulse an enemy who mustered only twenty thousand infantry and two thousand horse, they violently opposed Alexander when he insisted on crossing the river Ganges also, the width of which, as they learned, was thirty-two furlongs, its depth a hundred fathoms, while its banks on the further side were covered with multitudes of men-at-arms and horsemen and elephants. For they were told that the kings of the Ganderites and Praesii were awaiting them with eighty thousand horsemen, two hundred thousand footmen, eight thousand chariots, and six thousand fighting elephants. [10] Gangaridai, a nation which possesses a vast force of the largest-sized elephants. Owing to this, their country has never been conquered by any foreign king: for all other nations dread the overwhelming number and strength of these animals. Thus Alexander the Macedonian, after conquering all Asia, did not make war upon the Gangaridai, as he did on all ...

THE REVOLTS

BALCONYTV.COM 5/01/2008 PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT The Revolts were formed in 2005 by Adam O'Regan, Shane Joyce and Donagh Seaver O'Leary. Inspired by Donagh's love of Funk, Shane's love of Rock and Adam's ever eclectic taste, they aimed to create a revolutionary, electric and non-pretentious sound that would reverberate for generations. In 2006, The Revolts gained a 4th member, piano God Utsav Lal. Adam heard Utsav Lal playing classical piano in a local school mass and quickly offered him the position of keyboard player for The Revolts. Utsav, who loves all genres of music particurlarly Rock, accepted Adam's proposal. The band jammed with their new member and their was instantaneous excitement as the revolutionary sound Adam, Donagh and Shane had been searching for, was born. However, in mid 2007, The Revolts, after much thought and deliberation, went through a major change in which drummer Shane Joyce was replaced by Dil Lynch and Singer/Songwriter Stephen Appleby was introduced to the lineup. www.myspace.com Tune in again tomorrow!!!

All union pensions combined would not equal a 10th of 1 percent of what was given by the Federal Reserve to greedy fat cat banks and corporations who are not using the money for anything except to make themselves more money. Wall Street, the banks, and the rich are the problems. 400 years dead, La Boétie still fuels revolt - Liberty, Ron Paul

Promotional video: FreedomBookClub.com hands its coveted Book of the Year award to *The Politics of Obedience the Discourse of Voluntary Servitude,* by Étienne de la Boétie. Music by: Cooper Travis: www.facebook.com Text of the news release: "Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed." With those words, and a brief, brilliant legal career, Étienne de la Boétie set the stage for centuries of resistance to tyranny. That resistance played out just down the street in Nashua, New Hampshire, even as freedom lovers were announcing an award for the long-dead "freedom philosopher." "I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over," he wrote, "but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces." These legendary phrases have repeatedly reached out from the 16th century and inspired revolts of nearly every kind. Today, they inspired another milestone for the French writer. "The Politics of Obedience is certainly worthy of the honor it receives," says Jeremy Furbish of FreedomBookClub.com Furbish, or more accurately the folks who use his website, just awarded La Boétie's classic "Book of the Year" for 2009. The prize goes to books which rank the highest on surveys conducted throughout the year at FreedomBookClub.com. Americans have more of a penchant for tax revolts than the British, but that may be changing. After thirty years of unchallenged tax increases, The Taxpayers' Alliance formed in 2004 to advocate for lower taxes across the United Kingdom. Co-founder and Chief Executive of The Taxpayers' Alliance Matthew Elliott sat down with Reason.tv to discuss the rising frustration with taxes in Britain and how TPA grew from a small group that met in coffee shops to a national media player. Approximately 5.43 minutes. Interviewed by June Arunga. Camera by Jim Epstein and Josh Swain. Editing by Swain. Vorkuta (4) . GULAG REVOLTS OF 1953.

Apšaušanas. Videofilmas Inta-Vorkuta (1990) fragmenti. 1953 was a remarkable year in the history of the Gulag. That year the Soviet leadership was faced by major rebellions at three camp complexes: Karaganda, Vorkuta and Norilsk. These dramatic revolts, the details and scope of which are still not well known, shook the foundation of the Soviet system. These events have special importance to the Baltic States because many Latvians, Lithuanians and Estonians were imprisoned in these camps and because Baltic nationals took a prominent part in the revolts. Baltic prisoners were also among the casualties when the revolts were brutally suppressed. Revolt spreads, outcomes uncertain. Budget cuts; End military action save billions

www.platformforthefuture.com http The Stench of Truth (403).mp4 Where is the Tea Party and there "love of the Constitution" on ending inperialist aggression in Iraq and Afghanistan? Budget cuts will hit people and families and totally ignore the elephant in the room; WAR, and military adventurism. It will also not touch banks or corporations. The GOP and Tea Party will willingly sell out to Wall Street just as the Democrats have. The revolts in the Middle East seem more to me to have been initiated for a purpose but now have gained a life of their own. The end is not yet in Egypt, so let us wait and see what happens there before passing judgement on whether it is a true revolution or a controlled affair. The same is true for the other actions elsewhere like Iran, Bahrain, Yemen, and Algeria. Power to the people and hopes that they do not get bamboozled.

MOTB - The Last Revolt-1/5

bible mysteries: Since the days of King David, the Jewish people have claimed the rocky hillsides of Judea as their Promised Land and no structure better symbolized that covenant than the majestic Holy Temple on Jerusalem's sacred mountain. Six hundred years after its construction, the temple was the scene of an unlikely battle for freedom, as Jews fought impossible odds to repel legions of Roman soldiers. Of all of the peoples of the Near East, why did the Jews alone dare challenge the greatest imperial power the world had ever known? Why was Rome determined to prevail at any cost? And what happened to the temple when the siege finally broke through Jerusalem's walls? This episode examines a historical puzzle not included in the bible: the failed Jewish uprising against the Romans three decades after Jesus' execution. Using eight people as touchstones (such as Masada resistance leader Eleazar ben Jair and rebel-turned-historian Josephus), we trace the beginnings of the revolt through massacres like the one at Gamala, leaving just two survivors, to the (accidental?) burning of the temple in Jerusalem. The mystery stems from the question of Josephus' reliability as a historian, since the Jewish rebel is considered a traitor for making a pact with the Romans, and from the fact that he leaves large gaps in his writings, which remain the only surviving account of the time. This installment proves to be one of the most fascinating of the series, as it focuses on events little ...

All Revolts against Catholic Constitutions are from Jews

Excerpt from the 1936 convention of Bnai Brith; Jewish sons of the Covenant REVOLUTION "We are the Fathers of all Revolutions - even of those which sometimes happen to turn against us. We are the supreme Masters of Peace and War. We can boast of being the Creators of the REFORMATION! Calvin was one of our Children; he was of Jewish descent, and was entrusted by Jewish authority and encouraged with Jewish finance to draft his scheme in the Reformation. "Martin Luther yielded to the influence of his Jewish friends, and again, by Jewish authority and with Jewish finance, his plot against the Catholic Church met with success... "Thanks to our propaganda, to our theories of Liberalism and to our misrepresentations of Freedom, the minds of many among the Gentiles were ready to welcome the Reformation. They separated from the Church to fall into our snare. And thus the Catholic Church has been very sensibly weakened, and her authority over the Kings of the Gentiles has been reduced almost to naught.. . "We are grateful to Protestants for their loyalty to our wishes - although most of them are, in the sincerity of their faith, unaware of their loyalty to us. We are grateful to them for the wonderful help they are giving us in our fight against the stronghold of Christian Civilization, and in our preparations for the advent of our supremacy over the whole world and over the Kingdoms of the Gentiles. "So far we have succeeded in overthrowing most of the Thrones of Europe. The rest ...
