So far, the trailers released have offered a few hints as to how Prometheus ties into Alien, including a look at what appears to be the alien pilot dubbed the "Space Jockey" from the first film. But now scott made a statement that may have spoiler written all over it...heres what he said, "When the first Alien movie and Blade Runner were made, I thought that in the near future the world will be owned by large companies. This is why we have the Tyrell Corporation in Blade Runner, and Weyland-Yutani in Alien. They sent the Nostromo spaceship. Prometheus - Official Full Trailer 2 - Ridley Scott Alien movie (2012)HD Prometheus is an upcoming science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron. Set in the late 21st century, the story follows the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as they explore an advanced alien civilization in search of the origins of humanity. Conceived as a prequel to Scott's 1979 science fiction horror film Alien, rewrites of Spaihts's script by Lindelof developed a separate story that precedes the events of Alien, but which is not directly connected to the films in the Alien franchise. According to Scott, though the film shares "strands of Alien's DNA, so to speak", and takes place in the same universe, Prometheus will explore its own mythology and ideas. Principal photography began in March 2011, with filming taking place in Canada, England, Iceland, Spain, and Scotland, mostly on practical sets. The film was shot entirely using 3D cameras and required no conversion in post-production. Prometheus is scheduled for release on June 8, 2012, in the United States and Canada. Scott has suggested that if the film is a success, he would be interested in pursuing sequels.
