Part 1 of 2: Every shooter in the US should own a Ruger 10/22 (and I wish my overseas viewers could too!). It is the everyman's, all-around .22 rifle. It shocks me when I find one that doesn't! That's because it provides immense enjoyment and capabilities for such a low cost. Even out-of-box, the venerable 10/22 is accurate, very reliable, tough, ergonomic, lightweight, easy to use and carry, and most of all, fun! It continues to be an extremely successful Ruger design, having sold well over 5 million copies (and still going strong). It has out-sold and out-survived many other .22 designs to include the Remington Nylon 66. The 10/22 has always represented amazing value. That's because for a reasonable price you are getting a rifle that will probably last your entire lifetime. Well, the same applies to these birds. A lot of my city friends would wrinkle their noses when I mentioned that I sometimes eat feral pigeons. But, that is because they only have the image of their city pigeons, rooting around at the base of dumpsters and garbage cans. These country pigeons grew up eating corn and grain. So, they actually taste pretty good. And if you are lucky enough to get your hands on few young ones, they are downright delicious. I shoot these birds regularly. In part to keep their numbers from swelling out of control, and also to feed my pets and (on occasion) myself. If you bag 10-12 of them, they make for a nice pie. I'll be the first to admit that this earlier video wasn't a display of my best shooting - the gun was new to me, and I had not yet learned to use it to its full potential. Had I known the video would garner the attention it has, I probably would have used more discretion. But, at least I was fully honest. I could have omitted my mistakes - but, that is not how I choose to present myself. So, try not to be too judgmental until you look at my newer videos. This footage was taken on November 4, 2010. Tape: Travel to Rockbreaker's Last Gas and turn to the west, you will see an abandoned shack at the top of a cliff, this shack is the location of the 4th Keller tape. Make your way around the cliff from the left side of the mountain (there will be some Super Mutants). Enter the shack and the tape will be on the workbench on the left. [NOTE: tape 1 is not required to gain access in the bunker.] Victory Rifle: A critical hit with this rifle will knock enemies down for 1 to 4 seconds. Consequently, this is an excellent weapon for stealth oriented players as a critical hit will buy the player enough time to pull out the Lincoln's repeater or a similar long-range weapon (plasma rifle works well). This combo will make you almost invincible against solitary foes. The Victory Rifle has the best durability of all sniper rifles (+200% CND). NOTE: If you bring any NPC that needs a weapon into the shack, he/she/it will run to the locker and, apparently without any problems, take out the Victory Rifle. This is one way to get around the need for 100 Lockpick to open the locker. When inside the shack with Dogmeat as company, ask him to find you a weapon, and he will eventually retrieve the Victory Rifle. As sometimes multiple weapons are loaded into the containers at random, the number of tries necessary for Dogmeat to find the <b>...</b>

Steel Eating ( Rifle rounds vs steel)
Shooting the AR-15, the M1-A, & the SKS at thick steel: a close-up perspective. Shots were taken from behind a large tree at approximately 40 yards. Guns used: Russian SKS, Colt AR-15 A2, Springfield M1-A Disclaimer: Lots of discussion about 5.56 vs .223 and 7.62 X 51 vs .308. The guns you see me use in this video will fire either one safely, so no issue for me. Never HAS been. Be sure you do your research and shoot what your guns will handle. I have to explain this about once a week, it seems; most people have limited experience shooting 7.62X39 rounds at steel, which is understandable, of course. :-) I've shot both hollow point and FMJ 7.62X39 at soft steel for many years. The FMJ and the hollow point have pretty much the exact same effect on it.
