Jawoll - Rendezvous - 1983 Jawoll war eine deutsche Band, die Anfang der 80er Jahre im Zuge der Neuen Deutschen Welle im deutschsprachigen Raum kommerziell erfolgreich war. Die Gruppe Jawoll wurde 1981 von Kornelia Scholz und Matthias Kutschke an der Kasseler Kunsthochschule gegründet. Der Gitarrist Robert Foster war Engländer; daher komponierte die Band anfangs ihre Lieder noch größtenteils auf englisch, so ua auch ihr späterer Erfolgstitel „Taxi". Inspiriert von der Band Ideal entschloss sich Jawoll, nur noch auf deutsch zu komponieren. Es waren nur wenige Auftritte nötig, um von der Plattenfirma des Komikers Otto Waalkes (Rüssl Räckords) entdeckt zu werden. Es folgte die Veröffentlichung des ersten (und einzigen) Albums „Jawoll", dessen Singleauskopplung „Taxi" die Top 20 der deutschen Singlecharts erreichte. Auslöser für den Erfolg war ein Fernsehauftritt in der populären Musiksendung Bananas. Die Singleauskopplung „Rendezvous" erreichte nur noch knapp die Top 50 der deutschen Singlecharts. Nach mehreren Wechsel der Plattenfirma erschien 1984 die letzte Single der Band („Ich bin verrückt nach Dir"). 1986 löste sich Jawoll endgültig auf. Der Gitarrist Robert Foster wanderte nach der Auflösung nach Kanada aus und schloss sich dort der Sängerin Jann Arden an, mit der er einige internationale Erfolge feierte.
