Classic Game Room Re-Making of OMEGA BOOST lost review

The Classic Game Room lost a review episode into the sea of tapes from the old Inecom Entertainment archives, and with it the timeless review of the space shooter OMEGA BOOST. Game Room recorded the episode in February of 2000 and CGR-HD remastered it in April of 2008 with the master studio footage and new video game footage. This episode will also teach you how to edit, post videos on YouTube in HD with superior quality video and audio, mix, author, use Betacam SP tape decks, Canon XH A1 (XHA1), Adobe Premiere Pro with Matrox Axio LE, Premier, Photoshop and video editing software. Booya! Omega Boost was created by Polyphony Digital, the same people who brought you the Gran Turismo series. You fly around as an awesome robot and destroy wave after wave of science fiction movie style enemies. Dave thought the game was like Robotech mixed with Panzer Dragoon, Mark thinks it has a great subwoofer friendly sountrack with machine gun sounds and music from Static-X. Do you like Robotech, Star Wars, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Battle of the Planets, Voltron, Tranzor Z, Silverhawks or any other awesome 80's cartoon robots? Did you play Project Sypheed on the Xbox 360? If so you'll love Omega Boost.Classic Game Room reviewed Atari, NES, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast and Playstation... too bad they didn't get to Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 or Wii. Robotech - The Macross Saga (GBA)

First time playing. This mediocre shmup is based off of the TV show of the same name. I'm not saying the show was bad, it's just that this isn't one of the better Macross games out there

Classic Game Room HD - ANDROID ASSAULT for Sega CD review

Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out the 1990's hair band guitar metal and gigantic transforming robots to review Android Assault: The Revenge of Bari Arm for the Sega CD. The Sega CD was a short lived, unique, console video game system that worked with the Sega Genesis (Megadrive Mega Drive) 16 bit wonder machine. You can see the Classic Game Room review of the Sega Genesis with S-video here on YouTube. Android Assault is a SHMUP horizontally scrolling shooter where you pilot a Robotech, Transformer, Go Bot-like mecha, mechwarrior fighter thingy against wave after wave of alien bad guys. It's like Guitar Hero with guns... or like Thunder Force III or Gradius mixed with Headbanger's Ball... for all the headbangers out there who remember!!! Late on Saturday night, no date, Sega Genesis and Whitesnake on your MTV... ahh the memories. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. XBLA.

Classic Game Room - MACROSS PLUS review for Playstation

Macross Plus game review. Classic Game Room reviews MACROSS PLUS The Game Edition for Playstation released in 2000 based on the 1994 anime, Macross Plus. Don't confuse this version with the awesome 1996 Banpresto SHMUP arcade shooter though, this Macross Plus videogame is a good looking game that crashes, burns and explodes with terrible controls. Macross Plus video review features gameplay from Macross Plus played on Japanese PS2, this is an import game (imported to the West) from Japan with Japanese dialog and relatively simple menus that can be navigated easily. Macross Plus videogame suffers from awkward controls that ruin what could have been a fun and enjoyable game for fans of the Macross Plus anime. Macross Plus video review features game play from Macross Plus anime based space ship and robot shooter fighting videogame.

Astraea - Mechajet Symphony

A strangely symphonic video of a shmup, called Astrae, found at r-revery.hp.infoseek.co.jp Music is Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 theme. So this game is a fast paced little shooter, where you can be a mech with a sword and transform into a ship... With guns. Mech form is more powerful, but has limited range. Sword range and power does increase with charging it up, the sword can cut through any bullet. Ship form has a good wide range guns, good for shooting up stuff quickly. The downside, you can't block shots like in mech form unless you charge up. However, a fully charged shot blasts the entire screen. The key to being successful in this game is to know when to use which form (yes, I sound crappy saying that, but it really worked for me). Mech is good for armies of goons scattered all over, since its sword slashes and destroys bullets in the front half of its radius. Ship is good for far away enemies, or charging up its weapon can blow up groups of enemies and bullets in straight lines. Mech: Defensive Ship: Offensive. Controls are arrow keys and numpad, now I'll freaking shut up so you can play. RETRIBUTE. RETRIBUTE!

Classic Game Room HD - PROJECT SYLPHEED for Xbox 360 review

Classic Game Room HD is a new member of the Classic Game Room family. A more relaxed, subdued show about classic (and new) video games from the past 30 years. Not to be confused with the classic Silpheed on Sega CD, this is a review of Project Sylpheed: Arc of Deception. Do you like flying space ships and blowing things up? Well, so do I! It's much better than the Demo on Xbox Live. This game which originated in Japan is a space shooting game like Omega Boost mixed with Robotech. It has a great anime and science fiction style that drops you into the middle of interstellar violent mayhem! Only on the Xbox 360 game system, which is like an Atari but without the fine wood trim. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD.

Classic Game Room HD - THEXDER for PC review

Classic Game Room HD reviews THEXDER for PC from 1987. Originally from GameArts in Japan, Thexder was released to the US computer market by Sierra On-Line in 1987. Part side scrolling platformer, part SHMUP, Thexder is all awesome. It could be one of the greatest games you've never played because Thexder just came and went and doesn't continue to this day (although there was 1 sequel in the mid 90's.) Pilot a transformable robot through tunnels and caverns and blast the crap out of enemy things that fly, swarm and fall on you. Thexder is like Jetfire from the Transformers, a Veritech Fighter from Robotech and Leader-1 from the Go Bots all rolled into one (I just had to drop a GoBots reference in there, he's basically a Veritech Fighter). Thexder has an auto aiming laser in robot mode and front shooting laser in jet mode. The game is unique because it relies on a combination of action gameplay and serious level learning strategy to complete. Thexder has 15 levels which increase in difficulty rapidly. This CGRHD review of Thexder has gameplay from Thexder and shows maps and footage from the old school retro 80's Sierra Game Arts Japanese video game. Thexder... I hardly know her!? Will there be a Thexder remake for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii soon?
