This video was taken at HRTA airsoft and shows an airsoft PRG that uses 40mm airsoft grenade shells to fire a burst of BBs through the tip of the rocket. It can fire anything from 20 to 200 bbs depending on the grenade used. The rocket doesn't leave the launcher unfortunately as its only cosmetic. The optics are from a real steel RPG launcher and overall the piece looks incredably realistic.

RPG-28 antitank disposable grenade launcher /rocket-propelled grenade (Russia) The RPG-28 is a disposable,single shot rocket launcher pre-loaded with fin-stabilized rocket. The single-piece smoothbore barrel / container is made of fiberglass. The rocket is contained in the barrel tube, and its solid-fuel motor burns out completely within the barrel. Because the barrel is open at the rear to avoid recoil, there is a dangerous backblast area behind the firing weapon.In transport/storage mode both ends of the barrel are closed by the front and rear covers, made of rubber; those covers shallnot be removed manually and are destroyed during the rocket launch. Firing mechanism is cocked manually by rising the rear sight; lovering the rear sight de-cocks the firing mechanism so the grenade can be brough back to safe mode if the there's no immediate target. The launcher tube is also equipped with standard sight rail which can accept telescopic or IR / Night sight in equipment. Since the complete system is quite heavy, it is equipped with shoulder pad below the center of mass, a folding support leg(monopod) at the rear and a folding forward grip in front. The rocket is fin-stabilized (with six switch-blade like fins at the rear), and its solid-propellant motor burns out completely while rocket is still in the barrel. The tandem, dual shaped charge(HEAT) warheads capable of defeating modern and future reactive armor plus at least 900 mm of homogenous steel armor behind it.

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - Combined Joint Task Force-82 has released video of an air weapons team engaging and killing insurgents when responding to the insurgents' complex attack on a small patrol base in Paktia province May 27. The video shows 14 insurgents carrying automatic rifles, rocket propelled grenades and a mortar round fleeing the scene after they attacked the outpost with indirect fire, rocket propelled grenades and smalls arms fire. The pilot of an Apache AH64 helicopter is heard verbally checking to make sure the militants are far enough away from any qalats, or Afghan homes, so that shooting the militants will not endanger any civilians. The attack helicopter checks six times to ensure there will be no collateral damage before receiving permission to engage the insurgents. After the helicopter engages the insurgents from the air, US troops continue fighting the insurgents on the ground. The entire fire fight lasted more than five hours. Afghan National Army and ISAF service members conducted an assessment of the area, finding at least 15 militant forces killed, numerous small arms and a mortar system. No ANA or International Security Assistance Forces were injured during the attack. The incident resulted in no civilian casualties. Two men armed with a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) launcher and machine-gun have fired on members of the Overwatch Battle Group -- West (OBG(W)) during a patrol in Dhi Qar Province. No Australian soldiers were wounded in the weekend attack. Anti-Iraqi Forces gunmen fired an RPG round which hit the bar-armour of an Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV). The grenade did not detonate and rounds from the machine gun failed to damage the Australian vehicles. Australian soldiers returned fire with their rifles and the ASLAV responded with its 25mm main armament. The attackers fled the scene.
