Rosanne Cash - Seven Year Ache (studio version)

Lyrics: You act like you were just born tonight Face down in a memory but feeling alright So who does your past belong to today Baby you don't say nothing when your feeling this way Girls in the bars thinking who is this guy But they don't think nothing when they're telling you lies You look so careless when they're shooting that bull Don't you know heartaches are heros when their pockets are full Tell me your trying to cure a seven year ache See what else your old heart can take The boys say when is he gonna give us some room The girls say, God, I hope he comes back soon Everybody's talkin' but you don't hear a thing Still uptown on your downhill swing Boulevards empty why don't you come around Baby what's so great about sleeping downtown There's plenty of dives to be someone you're not Just say you're looking for something you might have forgot Don't bother calling to say you're leaving alone 'Cause there's a fool on every corner when you're trying to get home Just tell 'em your trying to cure a seven year ache See what else your old heart can take The boys say when is he gonna give us some room The girls say, God, I hope he comes back soon Tell me your trying to cure a seven year ache See what else your old heart can take The boys say when is he gonna give us some room The girls say, God, I hope he comes back soon

This is the tribute Concert to Johnny Cash (2003) His daughter talk about her's dad and singing His hit Tennessee Flat Top Box. Lyrics: In a little cabere In a south texas boarder town Sat a boy and his guitar And the people came from all around And all the girls From there to Austin Were slippin' away from home And puttin' jewlery and hopped to take the trip To go and listen To the little dark-haired boy who played the Tennessee flat top box And he would play Well he couldn't ride or wrangle And he never cared to make it down But give him his guitar And he'd be happy all the time And all the girls From nine to ninety Were snappin' fingers Tappin' toes And beggin' him don't stop And hypnotized And fasinated By the little dark-haired boy who played the Tennessee flat top box And he would play Then one day he was gone And no one ever saw him 'round He vanished like the breeze They forgot him in the little town But all the girls Still dreamed about him And hung around The cabere until the doors were locked And then one day On the hit parade Was the little dark-haired boy who played the Tennessee flat top box And he would play

She is the eldest daughter of country music singer Johnny Cash and his first wife, Vivian Liberto Cash Distin. Although she is most often classified as a country artist, her music draws on many genres in addition to country, including Folk, Pop, Rock and Blues. In the 1980s, she had a string of chart-topping singles, which crossed musical genres and landed on both C&W and Top 100 charts, the most commercially successful being her 1981 breakthrough hit "Seven Year Ache", which topped the US country singles charts and reached the top thirty on the US pop singles charts. In 1990, with the release of the darkly introspective Interiors, Cash's music became more personal and her music's sound more stripped down. In 1991 Cash ended her marriage to producer/songwriter Rodney Crowell, and moved from Nashville to New York City, where she continues to write, record and perform. Since 1991 she has released four albums, written two books and edited a collection of short stories. Her fiction and essays have been published in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Oxford-American, New York Magazine, and various other periodicals and collections. She won a Grammy® award in 1985 for "I Don't Know Why You Don't Want Me," and has received eight other Grammy nominations. She has had eleven #1 country hit singles ...

The fantastic Rosanne Cash sings her father's classic song "Starkville City Jail" (from the "Live at San Quentin" album) at the 2008 "Pardon Johnny Cash" Flower Pickin' Festival in Starkville, Mississippi. (By the way, my camera wouldn't stop going in and out of focus and I definitely apologize!) The video was recorded on Saturday, October 18, 2008. I got to meet Rosanne briefly before the concert and she was a real sweetheart. She sang several more of her hits and I have vids of all of them that I'll try to post soon. Hope all you Cash fans enjoy her remarkable rendition! :-)
