Yves Rossy The Swiss Jet Man / Fusion Man / Rocket Man - ENGLISH SUBTITLES www.jetman.ch/

www.jetman.ch latest news on Yves Rossy's official site! Follow his channel www.youtube.com The Jet Man, Yves Rossy, a former Swiss military pilot, designed and built a deployable 3-meter wing, holding kerosene fuel for 2 jet engines (as of May 2008 FOUR turbines on a 2.5m wing!!) fixed to the tips and attached it to his back. Rossy launched from an airplane and flew for 4 minutes, traveling over 100 mph, landing by parachute. www.jet-man.com OK here's my attempt at translation (if you can, please correct!): 00:16 (VIDEO START) 00:20 (German) Further, further away from the car 00:22 Yes 00:24 (French) Towards the drain 00:25 There? 00:26 Yep 00:33 ('SCOTLAND THE BRAVE' RINGTONE) 00:48 So, the idea is, as we see here, there's the fuel, the smoke cartridges, and the jet engines underneath, for horizontal flight. 01:00 In fact, the Flying Jet Man, that's the idea. And to do that we've developed this folding wing, taking into account the space available in the plane, because we don't have much space. A wing of 3 meters would not fit in the plane without being folding. 01:19 It's nearly a mini-airplane, except that, well, I'm the fuselage. So there's fuel, batteries, gas for starting the jet engines, oil is in the kerosene for lubricating the engine. I have a little handle for moving the ailerons so I can go up and down, so I've got all the controls just like a plane, and like I said I'm the fuselage with two jet engines up my backside! 01:56 The goal - horizontal flight ...

Jetman Grand Canyon Flight, Yves Rossy

"This is the most challenging place I could fly," the Jetman, Yves Rossy, told reporters. Rossy's flight was his first in the US and potentially his most difficult. Previous over-water flights across the English Channel and Strait of Gibraltar provided the option of a water landing -- an option Rossy chose when en-route weather reduced safety margins during the Gibraltar run. The canyon offered far fewer options for a safe landing in the event of an emergency and its sharp corners and steep walls increased the likelihood of turbulence.

Live Yves Rossy - Yves "Jet Man" Rossy English Channel Crossing - Swiss Jet Man - Jet-man: Human Powered Flight

www.JetManBlog.com About the Movie with Yves Rossy DOVER, England - A Swiss daredevil crossed the English Channel strapped to a homemade jet-propelled wing Friday, parachuting into a field near the white cliffs of Dover after a 10-minute solo flight. Yves Rossy leapt from a plane at more than 8800 feet, fired up his jets and made the 22-mile trip from Calais in France. Rossy passed over a thin strip of land in front of South Foreland lighthouse, looped over onlookers and opened his parachute, his wings still strapped to his back. "It was perfect. Blue sky, sunny, no clouds, perfect conditions," he said. "We prepared everything and it was great." The trip across the Channel is meant to trace the route of French aviator Louis Bleriot, the first person to cross in an airplane 99 years ago. The lighthouse was the site of Guglielmo Marconi's experiments with radio telegraphy in 1898. Bleriot used the white building as a target during his pioneering flight, the building's manager, Simon Ovenden, said. Several hundred spectators rushed to greet the pilot, trying to take photographs with cameras and cell phones. "It's a remarkable achievement, we saw the climax of his attempt as he came down to earth with his parachute. It's been an exciting afternoon," said Geoff Clark, a 54-year-old onlooker from Chatham, in Kent. The carbon composite-wing weighs about 121 pounds when loaded with fuel, and carried four kerosene-burning jet turbines that kept him aloft. The wing had no steering ...

Amazing Video: 'Jet Man' stunts alongside fighter jets over Alps

Amazing pictures from Switzerland show where "jetman" Yves Rossy gave this incredible flying display, using a tailor-made jet pack. The aviation enthusiast leapt from a helicopter and performed a series of aerial acrobatics above the Alps. He then joined two jet planes in a synchronized flight. To synchronise their flight paths the jets reduced their speed to 220 kilometres per hour (137 miles per hour), which put their engines at a point close to stalling. Rossy's previous aerial feats include flying the English Channel and looping the loop around a hot-air balloon. RT on Twitter: twitter.com RT on Facebook: www.facebook.com

Another top-flight feat makes aviation history. After crossing the Channel, flying alongside two Boeing Stearman biplanes carrying the Breitling Wingwalkers, looping the loop around a hot-air balloon and hurtling across the sky over the Grand Canyon, Yves "Jetman" Rossy has shifted up yet another gear with a formation flight alongside two jets from the Breitling Jet Team. The world's first jet-powered man jumped off a helicopter with his rigid wing equipped with four jet engines. Adjusting his trajectory and altitude by his body movements alone, he then performed aerobatic figures above the Swiss Alps in the company of two L-39C Albatros planes from the Breitling Jet Team, the world's largest professional civilian aerobatics team performing on jets. A stunning show -- and a major new accomplishment supported by Breitling, the privileged partner of worldwide aviation.

Yves 'Jetman' Rossy Flies Through The Grand Canyon

Flying his jet-propelled wing attached to his back, and steering only by moving his body, Yves 'Jetman' Rossy launched from a helicopter 8000 feet up into the breathtaking blue of the Grand Canyon sky. Skimming the rockscape at speeds of up to 190 mph, Jetman sustained his flight for more than eight minutes, 200 feet above the rim of Grand Canyon West. He ended the flawless precision flight by deploying his parachute and gracefully descending to the canyon floor. "My first flight in the US is sure to be one of the most memorable experiences in my life, not only for the sheer beauty of the Grand Canyon but the honor to fly in sacred Native American lands," Rossy stated. "Thank you Mother Nature and the Hualapai Tribe for making my lifelong dreams come true." An earlier flight scheduled for Friday, May 6 was cancelled when final FAA certification was held up due to difficulty in classifying Mr. Rossy's one-of-a-kind jet-powered wing. Yves Rossy has already won global acclaim for his successful jet-powered flights cross Lake Geneva and the English Channel. But this was the first time he had ever achieved his dream of flying in the purest sense in the US

Spectacular video: 'Jetman' soars over Rio de Janeiro skyline

Yves 'Jetman' Rossy continues to push the boundaries of aviation - this time, by successfully completing a flight under a sunny sky over the city of Rio de Janeiro. Yves Rossy, the only person to fly with a rigid wing equipped with four jet engines, dropped from a helicopter over Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, where he stabilised the wing and headed full throttle north to circumvent Corcovado. He then tracked south of the city to fly alongside Ipanema, Copacabana, and Sugar Loaf Mountain, before pulling his parachute and safely landing on the infamous Copacabana beach. Rossy's carbon-kevlar Jetwing has four engines attached, which each offer a thrust of 22kg, propelling the Swiss aviator at between 200-300kph, controlled by a simple throttle in his hand. The rest of the controls are left to the human-fuselage, Yves Rossy himself who simply usages his shoulders, body and legs to steer, pitch and descend. Rossy's previous aerial feats include flying in formation with two L-39c Albatros Jets over the Alps, flying across the English Channel and looping the loop around a hot-air balloon RT on Twitter: twitter.com RT on Facebook: www.facebook.com
