I just got a Traxxas Rustler, XL-5 and bumped it up with a Venom 7 cell 3000 Mah battery and did some runs outside with it. Truck is 3 days old...... First day It ran on street like this, second day I took it to a track made out of the orange clay that baseball fields are made of, and today, I ran it pretty hard on the street again. The two times that it crashed into my brothers back tire did zero harm to the truck, except maybe knock the trim a little out of place. The car runs between 35 and 40 mph on my NiMH battery (used here), and when you run it real real hard, lasts about 15 mins. takes 55 minutes to charge on 3Amps. Truck is also waterproof. Best 250 ever spent. Definitely a keeper and I would recommend getting this magnificent truck. One suggestion is if you're going to be running in on a track, upgrade the tires... they get close to no traction.

104 mph speed run. it was a little windy I went towards the wind to see what it would do and show you guys. I also did speed run later with the wind & I gained about 2 mph. Remember this is on jaco tires which nock off about 8 to 10mph, & on stock mamba settings. This is the last speed run I will be putting up until I get my new lipos and custom pinion gear. I finally broke 70mph with my Traxxas Rustler VXL! My rustler is basically stock with the addition of a 31T Pinion Gear and a 76T Spur Gear. This speed run was performed with a 3s 11.1V 4000mah LiPo by Traxxas. I was having the hardest time breaking 70mph with my rustler, the last modification I did was some proper lowering using the fuel line method to shorten the shocks. It handles really well now and is more stable at high speed, I think this was the final step to break 70mph. We'll see where it goes from here! I mainly brought this for bashing and want something that was fast and less hassle than the nitro cars and buggys. This is my Traxxas Rustler VXL, i brought it from my local hobby shop called wheelspin models in cannock it was £359 but with a voucher code i got it for £289.99 it comes with a 8.4volts battery which takes around 4 hours to charge and last about 15 to 30min depending on your driving. i always use full throttle so i get about 15min out of the battery stock out the box it does around 35mph but traxxas include a extra gear which will take it up to 45MPH.
