Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was reasonably well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head tilted outward, brushed the A-pillar, and continued partway out the open side window. Injury measures — Measures taken from the head, neck, and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. Forces on the right tibia indicate that injuries to the lower leg would be possible. Head acceleration from the A-pillar hit was negligible.

My volvo S40 has what's called an intereference design engine, basicly what this means is that if the timing belt were to break the valve would stop moving and would hang in a position that would "interfere" with the pistons path of travel. It wouldn't really be an 'oops pardon me while I squeeze by' type of interference it would be possible broken piston heads and bent and broken valves.Thus it's recommend that the timing belt is replaced ever 100k miles, well right now I'm over 120k and I'm nervous to say the least.My dad was kind enough to help me out(did most of the work) and we got it done.

On my way to work a little after 9:00 AM I was stopped in traffic on I-270 southbound, just north of the merge onto the outer loop of I-495. My 2008 VolvoS40 was rear-ended by a 1998 Ford WInstar minivan, going somewhere between 40 and 50 mph. The minivan immediately burst into flames. I couldn't drive my car away--it was stuck on the hood of the minivan. Not a good day.
