This car really doesn't make sense. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is meant to be about luxury, refinement, isolation and relaxation. So why has this S63 AMG got a high-revving, 6.2-litre V8 engine with a supercar-baiting 525bhp under the bonnet? Most S-Class Mercedes' cosset you into a dreamy sleep if you relax in the back. This one will smoke its tyres like an old-school hotrod and demolish 100 mph from a standing start in barely 10 seconds. It makes no sense at all, does it? Actually - in so many ways - it does. For a start, take AMG's point of view. It's the performance subsidiary of Mercedes and, truth is, can barely make enough cars. Every time Mercedes launches a new model, there are punters banging on AMG's door asking for super-fast, super-exclusive version. And when this potential customer seems more than happy to sign a cheque for more than £100000 it would be rude to say "no". This is both a good and bad thing. It's bad because AMG is no longer as exclusive as it once was, or in fact would still like to be. Last year it sold 20000 cars worldwide, which wouldn't be shabby if it were a luxury car manufacturer in its own right. For a mere performance division, it's phenomenal. But it's a good thing because, if several thousand rather than a few hundred people want one of your £100000 cars, there's a lot more cash to go spend on development. Replacing the normally aspirated 6.3-liter V8 in the $138875 S63 AMG sedan, the new smaller-displacement 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 features twin turbochargers, direct fuel injection, start/stop technology and multi-spark ignition and produces 536 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque.

Last sunday I recorded this brand new facelifted 2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG with a 5.5 V8 Biturbo under the hood. This engine produces 571Bhp (0-60mph 4.4seconds). As you can see this AMG has some new exterior updates, like the exhaust system, new front bumper with LED stripes and new rims. The most updates you will find inside with lots of new technology.
