
Evgenya Sotnikova was born in Kurgan. In 2008 graduated from The Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg (Professor Evgenya Perlasova's class). The singer has performed the title role in Tchaikovsky's Iolanta in the Opera and Ballet Theatre under the St. Petersburg Conservatory. In 2005 has won second prize at the Rahmaninov competition (Saint Petersburg). In 2006 has won third prize at the Russian festival-competition «Three centuries of classic romance» (Lied) In Moscow at the Elena Obraztsova International Competition of young opera singers becam finalist (2006). In 2008 has won third prize at the International Opera Singers Competition of Galina Vishnevskaya dedicated to Mstislav Rostropovich. Evgenya Sotnikova joined at the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre in 2008, where sang the part of Tatyana (Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin).
