Nada Sou Sou Movie Ending (English Subtitle)
The saddest movie I've watched. My 1st and last ever. I hate being sad :P Anyway, glad I found and watched this movie. I splitted these video from the movie. Very difficult to hold back tears each time I view the ending credits with the theme song. It's like I felt the sadness that Kaoru (Masami Nagasawa) felt. And those pictures from the scrap book made it sadder. Soo difficult to hold back tears when looking at it. Same feeling with the song when reached these lyrics: [On any days, clear sky or raining, that same smile emerges on your face] (harewataru hi mo ame no hi mo, ukabu ano egao) [Whenever I'm feeling sad or happy, I recall that smile] (kanashimi nimo yorokobi nimo, omou ano egao) Then eyes flooded with tears already. Imagine someone sacrificed a lot for you. You owed em a lot but by the time you wish cherish and show gratitude and love, that person died. Wish my siblings loves me like that (as a brother). Here's my mashup/remix of the contemporary Okinawan folk favorite Nada SouSou 涙そうそう featuring various artists, as well as clips from the boxoffice hit movie by the same name. Nada SouSou ("Tears For You" or "Tears Flowing Endlessly" in the Okinawan dialect) was written by the Okinawan folk band BEGIN with lyrics by legendary folk singer Moriyama Ryoko, who is considered the Joan Baez of Japan. It was written in part as a tribute to her late brother. The song truly became popularized after a cover version was recorded by Okinawan singer Rimi Natsukawa, who also plays the traditional shinsen, a three-string instrument similar to the shamisen. Her rendition is used as the theme to the 2006 film starring teen idols Satoshi Tsumabuki and Masami Nagasawa. The sad and epic tale is considered a contemporary Romeo and Juliet or Love Story. Yes, it's a sappy, sentimental tear-jerker in the truest tradition of Japanese movies of this genre, but I thought it was well worth watching. Other artists featured in this mashup include Tibetan-Chinese singer Alan (yes, that's her name), who also plays the haunting Erhu. While searching the web I also ran across a video featuring the US Navy's 7th Fleet Band Brass Ensemble performing at Mikasa Park adjacent Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan, one of my old stomping grounds as a kid. Qing Ming is a special day for me as I was growing up. It makes me feel like I am visiting someone (who has passed away) once a year, with my mom bringing food and offerings to them. It is not the ritual that is important, it was the effort to remember someone that makes it feel like they were always a part of my life, even if they were dead for a long time. New Zealand's Hayley Westenra performs a rare English language version of one of my all-time sentimental folk favorites Nada Sou Sou ("Tears Flowing Endlessly" in the Okinawan dialect). It was performed at the 2009 World Games in Taiwan. Although there are several versions of this video, none were in high-definition (HD). Also, the acoustics of the stadium was too hollow and detracted from the overall quality, so I enhanced the audio. Nada Sou Sou was written by the Okinawan band BEGIN with lyrics by Japanese folk singer Ryoko Moriyama. The song inspired a hit movie of the same name in 2006. Okinawan singer Rimi Natsukawa's rendition gained overwhelming popularity throughout Japan and was subsequently used as the theme song for the movie. Nada Sou Sou is included in Hayley Westenra's 2008 album Hayley Sings Japanese Songs. She is perhaps most widely known as a member of the recording sensation Celtic Woman from 2006-2007.
