Korg MicroKorg and Roland SP-505 played live. The Korg is "riffing" off the top of the (input) sounds of the Sp-505 samples, which were originally made on a Roland MC-505. The audio was recorded on a Sony Minidisc (Live) and also the Korg and SP-505 is NOT slaved via MIDI, I'll do another video for that. This is not really intended to be seen as "music" just a glimpse into the world of possibilities.

Sp-505 Boss Hip-hop Production Beats

I get a lot of questions about midi sync with the RC-50. Here, I've midi synced up a RC-50 and a Boss SP-505 Groove station. The 505 is basically acting as a drum machine. I created the drum backup on the fly as part of the "performance". This worked REALLY well, and could easily be expanded. Next I'm going to try some samples, and other things on the 505 as part of the mix with the looper. I recorded this live on the Zoom H4, and then dumped it into Ableton to master the track after I finished. I could have spent a lot more time mastering, etc, but didn't think it merited more than this. Enjoy.....

I'm using the SP-505 as a drum machine. I've got it midi sync-ed to the RC-50, and I'm using the RC-50 looper pedals as the controls. Spent WAAAAY too many hours creating this arrangment of this song. But, it'll do...... Playing this way is really challenging. You have to perform in multiple dimensions. Besides JUST PLAYING THE GUITAR...., you have to concentrate on the timing of the pedals, getting the rhythm in sync, .... yada, yada..... And, I'm challenged enough just playing the guitar....
