More than four decades later, Scott Richardson says when SRC was together it was during a time of great revolution as young people protested against a war and in favor of civil rights. "That particular moment in history for music and culture was just unique and it was incredibly intense." For Richardson the intensity started in 1965. That's when he put together his first band. It was called The Chosen Few. Richardson sang while James Williamson played guitar and Ron Asheton played bass. If those names sound familiar it's because Williamson and Asheton both went on to create the sound of the Stooges with Iggy Pop. After a short time together, The Chosen Few broke up. By 1967, Richardson had met a local concert booker who was also the manager of noted Ann Arbor music store Discount Records. Jeep Holland set Richardson up as the front man for a band called the Fugitives. The band changed its name to the Scot Richard Case and recorded its first single, a cover of a Skip James blues song. The Jesters - Go For The Gold
There is tension in the air as Dave and Steve are both nominated for the Gold Logie. With the end of the season drawing nigh, Michael is representing the team in contract and pay negotiations with the network, and he and Julia become involved in an increasingly vicious game of bargaining, threats and double bluff that continues through Logies night. Michael also fields other offers, including one to join Hamish or Andy as a sidekick. Michael enjoys using the offers as a bargaining chip - but is he using them or are they using him? Dave is surprised and hurt when Di announces her intention to retire and sets about trying to make her change her mind. Di wants her final deal for Dave to be a triumph. She plans to sell his hugely successful "Remembering" chat show to the highest bidder - whether Dave wants to or not. Kat is surprised when Steve makes a serious pitch to her for them to have a try at a proper relationship. Now Kat has to decide between her job, Steve and Dave. The SRC was formed by Scott Richardson, the Chosen Few lead singer, with local band The Fugitives, which featured Glenn Quackenbush, Gary Quackenbush & EG Clawson, all based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jeep Holland, manager of The Rationals, became their manager and suggested Richardson as lead singer. Bass player Robin Dale was added later. Holland, also a record store manager, later served as Russ Gibb's booking agent and was associated with many of the top Detroit based artists of his time such as MC5, The Thyme, and others. The Quackenbush brothers went to see Richardson at one of the final Chosen Few gigs at the Ann Arbor Armory, run by Pete Andrews (later SRC's manager). They formed the Scot Richard Case, later known as SRC.
