The original idea was to get footage of 'combo video' level stuff in actual ranked matches. Unfortunately, I soon realised that wasn't going to happen. The native input lag of the PS3 version of the game combined with that which occurs online was not at all conducive with my grand plans. So, I had to compromise. Wherever possible, I avoided 'standard' things, things you see all top level players doing. Also, I would try to make the most of all four meters and ultra for most clips. Everything is deliberately 'fun' and impractical. It doesn't really show skill but is hopefully interesting to watch. If you're maybe thinking the stuff vs 5000+ level players is somehow more valid than the stuff against players with only a few hundred points, I would have to disagree. In my limited experience, PP (or BP, I forget) is completely meaningless. I played against 15000+ players who were very, very average and fought some 1000+ players who seemed to have a much better understanding of the game. Those 'points' seem to only be an indication of how much time you spend playing online IMO. So yeah, in conclusion, this video is for fun. Probably more an exhibition of 'dealing with horrible, horrible lag' than one of skill or execution but here I am, putting some boss music over the top and uploading it to youtube. I've been playing ranked matches as Dan for a while, saving the replays... Finally decided to do something with the footage! The song, of course, is from Disney's Mulan. I thought it fit Dan pretty well (other than references to the huns lol), seeing as he believes he's a talanted martial arts teacher and fit to judge the abilities of others. Enjoy the vid! All clips are from ranked battles on Xbox 360. I'm not good at SSFIV and this video isn't meant to state otherwise, highest rank I've ever got Dan to was B, but then I fell back down to C again. Lol. I just wanted to show off what a fun character Dan is. He doesn't often win, but when he does, he wins with STYLE! There seems to be lots of discussion on Daigo's choice of a character for 2012 so I thought I would discuss it here before doing the actual video description... lol Daigo said he would possibly be changing character if Yun got heavily nerfed and he does acknowledge Yun is much weaker in 2012 that he may actually consider changing. The obvious choice is to go back to his Ryu but it seems the buffs Ryu got were not enough. He also said he prefers projectile characters and lately my friend told me that Daigo has been using Ken again (a character he used to play online with in Super but not in tournaments). Ken might possibly be Daigo's new main. Now, about the video. This is pretty much the full location test footage from SSFIV AE X SBO event. Much of the play is not exactly "high level" but it does show some of the changes. You never get to see stuff actually being done in combo vids, so I thought I'd make one in which you did. It'd be pretty cool to make a full one handed combo/trial vid but unfortunately the 360 stick and copy of the game I had were on loan and I can't do it on the HRAP because of the button layout :( Also, CMV5 is pretty much done and should be up in about a week. I played a lot of out of SSFIV & from the previous games, my favorite and main was always Dan Hibiki, I go off to Fight & Taunt on some Arcade Gameplay. I tried to be reasonably entertaining while demonstrating a bunch of practical and impractical combos and set-ups. For a proper 'point pressing' run I'd lose a round in every match. Also, I'd do nothing but the legs loop and rinse the barrel bonus stage a lot more. However, that wouldn't have been very interesting to watch. I've also provided a commentary giving some insight into what's possible vs certain characters, practicality/impracticality of certain combos etc. I'm happy to answer any questions about the run, just leave a comment and I'll do my best to respond.
