"Sagina" is a 1974 Hindi movie. Produced by the Late Shri JK Kapur and directed by Tapan Sinha, the film stars Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu, Aparna Sen and Om Prakash. Music is by SD Burman and lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. It was a remake of a Bengali version called Sagina Mahato which was released in 1970 with the same lead pair in the cast.............. Kishore Kumar ( Hindi: किशोर कुमार) (August 4, 1929 October 13, 1987) was Indian film playback singer and actor. Along with Mukesh and Mohammed Rafi, he dominated Indian film playback music from the 1950s to the 1970s. Kumar also achieved notable success as a lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenwriter and scriptwriter. Kishore Kumar was a prolific vocalist and sang in many Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam and Oriya. He is also widely regarded as the most versatile singer in the history of Indian cinema and a maverick of sorts for lending his voice to songs that did not conform to the norms of the day. In October 1987, he died following a massive heart attack. He had been married four times and is survived by his two sons Amit Kumar, who made his career in playback singing in Bollywood and Bengali films, and Sumit Kumar. Starting his career in 1947, he was a popular supporting actor from the 1950s until the 1980s. He was one of the elite of the film industry in the '60s, '70s, and to some extent '80s. His pivotal roles in the films Chupke Chupke, Julie, and Buddha Mil Gaya are considered to be among his best along with Daddu in Namak Halaal and De Silva in Zanjeer. He is known for his roles in comedy films. One of his best performances in his later years was Sharaabi (1984), where he played a role that was pivotal for the movie. He lived in Union Park, Chembur, a suburb of Mumbai. He died at age 78 in Mumbai, India of a heart attack. The actor who was always so full of life was still full of life till just two days before his death. He knew he was not well. He knew he was suffering from various complications but he never gave up his zest for life till his heart betrayed him. He kept calling friends to play a game of rummy or just chat. Saira Banu also Saira Bano (Hindi: साइरा बानु, Urdu: سائرہ بانو) (born August 23, 1944), an Indian actress, is a popular Bollywood heroine and the wife of the famous film actor Dilip Kumar. She acted in many blockbusters from 1960-80. Saira Banu was born in India to actress Naseem Banu of 30s-40s, and the granddaughter of a courtesan Chamiyan Bai, also known as Shamshad Begum (not to be confused with the famous playback singer of yesteryear Shamshad Begum. Her father was film Producer Mian Ehsan-ul-Haq, who Produced film Phool in Bombay and film Wadah in Pakistan. Saira had spent a significant part of her childhood in London, and went on to finish school. Career Banu made her acting debut at 17 years opposite Shammi Kapoor in the 1961 hit film Junglee for which she earned her first Filmfare nomination as Best Actress. The famous song from this movie "Yaahoo!! Chahe koi mujhe junglee kahe" was a big hit. It was sung by the singer Mohammed Rafi. Junglee was written by Aghajani Kashmeri (aka Kashmiri and Agha Jani), who also coached her in Urdu dialogue delivery, given his background in Urdu literature and poetry from Lucknow. Junglee also instantly made her a successful actress throughout the 1960s and early 1970s. After having a long time affair with Rajendra Kumar[citation needed], she got married to Dilip Kumar in 1966.
