Addressing climate change as a societal problem requires a healthy relationship between science and public policy making, grounded in a broad public understanding of its drivers, impacts, and solutions. However, the science of climate change has been increasingly swept up and distorted in a broader crusade against government regulation, and some research shows that the so-called "Climategate" scandal and subsequent attacks on climate scientists have had a significant negative impact on public beliefs in global warming and trust in scientists. As we grapple with collective decisionmaking to forestall the worst impacts of climate change, effective communication of the science behind it is more important than ever. Climate Science Watch spoke with climate scientist Dr. Benjamin Santer and Chris Mooney, a science and political journalist and author, about how climate scientists communicate complex research findings to the public in an atmosphere of fierce politicization and competing demands. Diop Kamau,Greg Miller,and Josh Antonelli of Police Complaint Center tried to obtain a police report in regard to an illegal home search of Sept. 2008. They were told there was no report and no such incident occurred. Here are the original documents by both Diop Kamau of the Police Complaint Center and Greg Miller of Citizens' Investigative Services stating very specifically how the Parkersburg Police Dpartment refused to cooperate in handing over legal documents to an organization that had requested them on 2 occasions. These documents were part of an investigation into a false arrest and illegal search of a clients house.Parkersburg Police refused to hand over the requested info and in fact a phone person there identified as Capt. Keith Roberts hung up the phone on Mr. Kamau in Kamau's words from the report,"rudely". So much for a citizens rights to equal justice. Two years later after a Federal Lawsuit the report was (miraculously?) found. Both Police Chief Joe Martin and Joe Santer refused Greg Millers requests. Isn't the City Atty. required by law to answer and return calls in such matters? Later when the client and Greg Miller went to the PPD to personally request the report in regard to the illegal search Capt. Keith Roberts did not hand over the report (It was obatained a year later by the US Court in Charleston and a copy of it is on this channel).Robert's reply to Mr. Miller when he asked for the report in regard to the officer who identified himself as "Santa <b>...</b>
