After bringing light into the world of so many with his 'Mr Sunshine EP' and 'NRV', Laszlo has created another picturesque and intricate soundscape with the track 'Satori'. This is the third track to be heard from his up and coming album, planned for release early 2011 and whilst keeping the signature sound of Laszlo, 'Satori' incorporates vocal melody using processed sampled female vocals and layering his own voice below. 'Satori' is a display of Laszlo's immense enthusiasm for the fusion of sound and textures, using primarily a diverse mixture of organic instruments such as piano, mandolin, flute (brilliantly played by the artist, Harmony) and vocal, blended with distinctive broken percussion and intelligent use of electronics. Never one to shy away from his influences, Laszlo cites these from the likes of Contemporary Jazz musicians such as Avishai Cohen and Esbjorn Svensson as well as pshychedelic virtuoso composers like Chick Corea and most importantly the legend who is Frank Zappa. This is further proof of Laszlo being more than just a producer with Logic Audio and a hard drive full of VSTs; this is a composer creating a sound of his own, blending sophisticated endearing melodies with instrumentation and contemporary production.

Like the details of a mystery perpetually unfold, so does the allure of permit fishing. The fascination with Permit evolves from the desire to seek out greater challenge. So, in a sense, it's really a personal endeavor. But the fish makes it possible... As a guide, I consider Permit a great fortune. I am lucky they swim on the flats, I am lucky they are hard to catch, and I am lucky to have anglers that relish the challenge they present with a fly rod. Over the years I have seen permit fishing become more accessible as people have turned on to their appeal and figured out how to catch them with consistency. The equipment is much improved and the flies have evolved, but more then that, our confidence has grown in the realization that they are catchable. Nothing epitomizes this progression more than what I consider the pinnacle...when I step out of the boat, and into the world of the permit, and face him one-on-one! While the sport of fly fishing may have unlocked a few of the mysteries of the Permit, our understanding of the fish is far behind. It's hard to believe that what we know about this elusive trophy is far greater in the world of fly fishing then in the world of science. My first attempt at a film, done with extremely limited resources. This is an entry for a short film contest. The rules of the contest are that it must be under 3 minutes long, and use the following dialogue: "It's not something I'd do" "Well?" "It's not what I expected" "You sure?" This dialogue must be used in that order, contain no additional dialogue, and you can interpret the dialogue in any way you wish. interpretationsfilm.com The film is a compilation of approximately 1500 still shots with a consumer camera (Canon Powershot SX200 IS). The only crew member was me, and the only cast member is Roselle. The total budget on this film was $0. I even edited this film using freeware (Windows Movie Maker and Microsoft Paint).
