Opening Sealed Hardware: Sega Game Gear In this video, I unbox a "sealed" Sega Game Gear from 1998. It is one of the later models. I've had this unit with me sealed for almost 10 years. I guess I never really owned a Game Gear before, since I never got to open it and play it myself. I recently came across five titles for this system, so I decided I'd finally give this baby a try. I encountered one problem once I unboxed the handheld: The forward button on the D-Pad was malfunctioning. The problem was with an uncut wire extending from the circuitry board. Luckily, the issue was resolved and I got this baby back in shape and as good as it should've been out of the box. I guess I'm just happy I'm the one who encountered this problem now and not a kid trying to play his Game Gear back in the days when it was already dying and factories weren't taking the units back anymore. This is one of the biggest reasons why it's important to open those sealed items: You never know if there's a factory problem with the units themselves. Feel free to rate this video. Power Strike 2 review. Classic Game Room reviews POWER STRIKE II for Sega Game Gear by Compile and Sega released in 1993. This handheld vertical scrolling 2D SHMUP style space ship shooter is one of the awesome games in the Aleste series from Compile (think MUSHA and Robo Aleste) and delivers bomb-ass-fresh gameplay along with stunning music. Sadly, the Sega Game Gear's screen deteriorates over time leaving the visuals desaturated and muddy (at least on my GameGear) but the game still rocks out with its Aleste out.

well, I'm running out of good games on the Game Gear :p. I've played a couple of games recently to find a suitable one for another playthrough video and all those crappy games needed to be offset with a good one like Castle of Illusion. I skip all the Sonic games because there are probably over 9000 videos already on youtube and I'm not such a huge fan of Sonic anyway. The plot is simple: an evil witch kidnapped Minnie Mouse and Mickey is off to rescue the mouse in distress. It's a classic platformer with nice and colorful graphics, good sound and good animation. He's just cute and I love how happy he looks all the time.
