Classic Game Room HD reviews the SEGA GENESIS MODEL 3 which was produced by Majesco and was the smallest, cheapest and lightest Sega Genesis from its era. While there are a handful of games that don't work with the Model 3 Sega Genesis like Virtua Racing (which sucks anyway, 32X version is better), the Model 3 Genesis offers a smaller footprint and typically lower price. It also does not work with Sega 32X adapter, Sega Power Base Converter or Sega CD add on. It does work with the Sega Nomad power supply and the Sega Genesis Model 2 AV cables.

This hardware review features a modded Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) controller that fits into the Vectrex controller ports. Not an "official" product, this recycled controller has a bit shaved off the plug which allows it to fit the Vectrex, and the buttons have been configured to play Vectrex games. The start button on the Genesis controller has been made to work as a Vectrex button. Gameplay is sloppy and sluggish, controls are overly basic and awkward and there is no kind of strategy whatsoever because there aren't any moves to speak of. If you are in England or Europe or Brazil you'd play this game on the MEGA DRIVE (aka Megadrive) and rock the MD with some serious Truxton action. The digital gamepad and standard 3 button layout is what most people got with their Genesis. You could also buy rapid fire and six button versions and joysticks, but this is my favorite. The Sega Genesis controller works with the Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 because they have the same plug configuration. I play all of my Atari reviews with a Genesis controller because it is my favorite. Does not work with a PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii... sadly.

The game is pretty good but would definitely benefit from dual thumbsticks, dual d-pads or dual joysticks because while you can walk in one direction and shoot in another the controls are awkward. One d-pad is one d-pad too little. The game is a tactical action game where players complete objectives in five different environments from a ¾ view top-down perspective. On the Sega Mega Drive (aka the Genesis) Battletech is a good looking game where the mech is well animated and cool looking. Reminds me of the Jenner / Locust from Mechwarrior, which is in the same family as this game, the Battletech universe! While this game is not related to Robotech some of the enemy mechs look surprisingly similar to Veritech Fighters or Jetfire from Transformers. Machine gunning enemies and laying waste to the enemy forces is always entertaining and the game has a password system so that you can save your game after a successful mission and return to it later. Of particular note is the uber-sexy computer voice in the game that reminds you of when you are about to overheat and explode. Battletech suffers from some clumsy controls but is still playable if you give the game some time. Your mech <b>...</b>

Classic GameR oom HD reviews F22 INTERCEPTOR for Sega Genesis. Released in 1991, 14 years before the actual F-22 Raptor entered United States military service, this game is a flight simulator where you pilot an F22 against various enemies in the Axis of Sega Genesis 1991 Bad Guys. This CGRHD review of F-22 Interceptor has gameplay footage from F22 Interceptor showing this early 90's style flight game in action. Take command of the F22 in a pilot cockpit view or 3rd person chase plane perspective. It was probably a pretty cool game at the time, but playing it in 2009 is slow, jerky, sluggish and downright unplayable. The 3D environment, polygon enemies and break away missile cameras fall flat on the 16-bit Mega Drive. This is a super affordable game cartidge to collect and play today and if you like flight sims you may enjoy this from a historical perspective, but lets all hope that the real Lockheed Martin F22 Raptor handles better than the F22 Interceptor in this Sega Genesis Megadrive game.
