I noticed my senegal bichirs where mating the other day, and i accually found some eggs! the anubias plant that is laying around on the bottom had a couple of eggs in it so after they where done i took the plant and put in a plastic box that holds 5 liters, with 2 oxygen-pumps. they layed som eggs in other plants too, but i couldn't collect those eggs, and the box is too small for all those plants to fit in there.. someone who can give me some advice how to make them breed more, and the best way to save the eggs, and make them hatch ? what i've heard, it's "extremly" difficult to get them to breed/get the fry to survive.. is it ? Here's the swedish "monsterfish keepers" website, and my thread where i update and post pictures of what's happening with the mating senegals, and the fry ! check it out : mfksweden.forum24.se *everything is in swedish though . thanks for watching ! Some more unusual fish in the tank :) Polypterus Senegal Senegalus (aka Albino Bichir) is an unusual and primitive fish, which resembles a snake more than anything else. They grow to about 12" (30cm) - these are quite young. So far, they've proven very placid (and fascinating!) but care will need to be taken when they get bigger: they're meat eaters and small fish will get chomped on! Some of the other fish in the tank can also be seen: tetras, angels, a molly, killies and a siamese!

Here's some of my overjaw bichirs. for some reason, they where swimming like this for about 30 minutes. I think it has something to do with spawning/mating. All 3 kinds(delhezi, senegalus, palmas polli) are showing signs that they want to mate. Soon, when I'm done building my monster tank, only the overjaw bichirs are going to be in this tank. hopefully to mate :) thanks for watching, and SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE! :D Check out my Flickr www.flickr.com
