A Re-arrangement of Septette For The Dead Princess From the game Touhou Koumakyou - Embodiment of Scarlet Devil Originally composed and arranged by ZUN Rearrangement by ARPEGGIO (homepage3.nifty.com Further Rearrangement and enhancements by Orochi Herman and Justus Johnston Rendered in Roland SC-8850 and Korg Wavestation by Justus Johnston Illustrations by kurokarasu (pixiv id: 360751) and aogiri (pixiv id: 292846) Justus belongs to the OverClocked ReMix group, perhaps long before I met him in the Shrinemaiden Forums. I presented him with the MIDI file I enhanced from Arpeggio's original. What I edited here is that I extended some parts that played too briefly, and altered some of the tempo. Little did I know then that the MIDI was rendered with Roland SC-8850, the same synthesizer class ZUN uses as well, encoded with the Roland GS extensions standard; regular MIDIs will not be able to read special expressions that it uses, except for my software synthesizer that time, which was a Yamaha S-YXG50 SoftSynthesizer. (Justus told me Yamaha recognizes some of the Roland GS stuff in its own implementation of MIDI extensions, their XG system). Justus took a look at the MIDI and my then-sucky FL Studio render of it, and decided to render the MIDI in SoundCanvas to show to me how it was meant to sound. Surely, he found flaws in the original as well and decided to soup it up. The flaws include mistimed effects-- I had no idea that time if I mangled the MIDI or it was simply flawed <b>...</b>

What's this? Another post? And it isn't even been a week? Well, holiday is only reason why this is coming up. Touhou is one of those series no one has ever heard about save the hardcore gamers. As a result, I doubt anyone will recognize this tune. But I'll just say it's one of my favorites. For the very few who do recognize it, I obviously upped the tempo to around IaMP's but kept the melody and instruments to EoSD version. If you're trying to find the melody, follow the trumpets. I know there's a lot of stuff going on at once. Note: Wow, sounds a lot choppier after uploading. Oh well. No one's really gonna listen to this anyways. It was more for my personal satisfaction that I do this song. I'm trying Area 6 next, for you barrel rollers. Note 2: My video editing skills suck, as usual. Windows Movie Maker is so much harder to use than Premiere.

I'm currently running a Let's Play for Sengoku Gensokyo, found here: www.giantitp.com Yeah, yeah, I know this is Remilia's theme, but Remilia doesn't get a battle cut-in for her ability, so you're going to have to make do with Flandre instead. Remilia and Flandre are both glass cannons that hit hard, but also take tons of damage. Flandre is the more extreme of the two. Remilia's special ability doesn't really affect the battle (it just increases chances to capture a prisoner), but Flandre can potentially OHKO targets with her special. You'll want to defeat both immediately, but beware of fairy maids that may possess Healing Light or Healing Prayer, as those moves can really complicate matters here.

This is Remilia Scarlet's Theme in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. The first Touhou song that captured my heart and dragged it further to Touhou nonsensedom. I shook my fist at Remilia for not allowing me to clear her on normal 1cc, or being able to 1cc the easy mode with not being able to hear this song. A long time ago when I was a noob. Coincidentally, this song was the reason why I decided to go and start all this Touhou Piano business. This song was the first to be mastered too. But I'm posting it way later because, well, I couldn't get the solo part right. In the end, I succumbed to my lack of skills and cooked up this version. This arrangement captures the feeling of elegance existent in the original and fuses a melancholic vibe into it (you could say I am a fan of melancholic / calm arrangements).
