Produced by Surinder Kapoor, it stars his son Anil Kapoor along with Padmini Kolhapure and Naseeruddin Shah. It was Anil Kapoor's first lead role. The music was done by Laxmikant Pyarelal while Anand Bakshi wrote the lyrics. Padmini Kolhapure (born 1 November 1965) a famous Hindi actress during the 1980s.Padmini was born to a Maharashtrian Konkani family. Her father is a Classical Singer whose family was from Kolhapur and Goa and her mother held a job working for the Airlines, whose family hailed from Mangalore. Her father's first cousins are singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. As a child was in the chorus for some of their songs like Yadoon Ki Baraat, Kitab, Dushman Dost along with her sister Shivangi (married to Shakti Kapoor). Padmini also later sang for her own films like Vidhaata (Saat Saheliyan), Hum intezaar Karenge, Sadak chaap (with late Kishore Kumar). She also released an album with Bhappi lahri called "Music Lovers". Also had the honour of performing for the GLC (Greater London council) at the Royal Albert hall London with Baapi Lahiri and his troupe in 1986. It was Asha Bhosle who suggested Padmini's name to Dev Anand who then cast the talented girl in Ishq Ishq Ishq (1975). Shabbir Kumar FANS CLUB Shabbir Kumar started his music career with the stage show Ek Shaam Rafi Ke Naam, a tribute to Mohammed Rafi. Shabbir claims that when he attended Rafi's funeral in 1980, his pen fell into Rafi's open grave. He interpreted the incident as a divine message that he was to be Rafi's successor. [1] Music director Usha Khanna gave Shabbir Kumar a break in the film Tajurba (1981). Shabbir got a major break, when the director Manmohan Desai, who was looking for a Rafi substitute, noticed him recommended him to music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal (LP). Within a few days, LP gave Shabbir Kumar songs in the film Coolie, which was released in 1983. Shabbir's first released film with LP was Main Intequam Loonga. Shabbir Kumar was first noted for a duet with Lata Mangeshkar, Shaam Hai Ye Kuch Khoyi Khoyi from Prem Tapasya (1983). Music director Anu Malik got him to sing for Rajeev kapoor in his debut film Ek Jaan Hain Hum (1983). Shabbir Kumar was acknowledged as a leading playback singer with the film Betaab. Music director Rahul Dev Burman got him to sung all the five songs for Sunny Deol. Also, in 1983, Coolie was released, in which LP had given him all the seven songs, six for Amitabh Bachchan, and one for Rishi Kapoor. In the 1980s, Shabbir Kumar sang for all the leading music directors including Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Rahul Dev Burman, Chitragupt, Kalyanji-Anandji, Rajesh Roshan, Usha Khanna, Bappi Lahiri, Anu Malik, Ravindra Jain, Raamlaxman, OPNayyar <b>...</b>
