Shaun Escoffery - Into The Blue (Todd Terry Mix)

b. London, England. This UK vocalist grew up in a musical environment with his mother and father pursuing part-time jobs as a singer and a DJ respectively. Escoffery began writing and singing in his early teens and in the late 90s played a small part in the West End musical, Mama, I Want To Sing, which starred Doris Troy and Chaka Khan. His attempts to launch a recording career were going nowhere until, in 2001, a promo of his track "Space Rider" attracted the attention of the independent label Oyster Music. A re-released "Space Rider" and its follow-up "Days Like This' enjoyed underground cult success and were promoted by influential UK DJ Trevor Nelson. The following year's self-titled debut album featured both tracks alongside new material that carried on the singles" successful mixture of soul, jazz, funk and R&B. Earlier in the year Escoffery's name was promoted to a wider audience when, in an unusual move, he was invited by England's heavyweight champion boxer Lennox Lewis to sing the national anthem before his title bout with Mike Tyson in Memphis, Tennessee. Remixed versions of several of the tracks on his debut album were released in 2003 on Soulonica.
M&S feat. Shaun Escoffery - So Sweetly (Kenny Carpenter Big Apple Mix)

Download @ www.traxsource.com I believe you may recall the legendary DJ Ricky Morrison, also known for his infamous record shop in London "Catch A Groove" and for the production group M&S which he founded with Fran Sidoli. To name just a few of their hits we remember: "Deeper", "So Special", and M&S Presents the Girl Next Door "Salsoul Nugget (If U Wanna)". We are more than happy to welcome them on Tony Records for our next release. This song is a very classy house tune. The "Sure Shot Vocal" is a quality version with an up-to-date beat and Shaun's smooth vocal line. The "Sure Shot Dub" has the same elements but just with the chorus line going. The Kenny Carpenter Remixes complete the single's package with his very own interpretation of the song. Kenny says: "I have loved Shaun Escoffery ever since I heard his first release. His song "Days Like This" was a legendary big hit in NYC and it was an honor and a pleasure to work with him." Mike Fossati from his "Spirit Of House" blog says: "..a mesmerizing production featuring outstanding vocals, dramatic strings, lascivious synth melodies, gorgeous flute and a killer jazzy piano over smooth yet infectious rhythms. A fascinating release bringing back memories from the past..." Produced and Mixed by Ricky Morrison & Fran Sidoli for M&S Productions. Engineered by M&S. Additional Keys and Flute by Alicia Hart.
