The Cromer and Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival 2011 promises to be bigger and better than last year. A feast of entertainment will pour onto the streets in music, food and song. The 317MW Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm, located about 23 km off the coast of North Norfolk, UK, will comprise 88 wind turbines and generate around 1.1TWh per annum. This is enough clean energy to power almost 220000 homes. Compared to fossil fuels that is a reduction of 500000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. The project is now in its construction phase and will be fully-operational by the end of 2011. The wind farm is owned equally by Statoil and Statkraft through joint-venture company Scira Offshore Energy Limited. Statoil is operator for the project during the development phase and Scira will be the wind farm operator. This project will draw on know-how from Statoil's longstanding offshore activities and Statkraft's expertise in relation to renewable energy.

Well 37194 tested the crossing on Sunday 7th MMarch, just a few days before the main event. 1. Oliver Cromwell rolls upto the banner slowly at 5mph breaks it in half opening the Crossing for the first time since 1964 whistling all the way over and untill it slows to a halt just under Church Street roadbridge (where i was standing) 2. Then she roars out of Sheringham heading to Holt up the steep graidents between Sheringham & Weybourne. 3. The train returns...this time 37516 is leading with 70013 on the back, here the drivers of both locos give off a MEGA TONES. Enjoy folks :-)

firstly i wasn't at the main ceramony due to over crowding but i was able to get it a fantastic view at beeston bump (which offers beautiful views for miles around), sheringham station (inc the VIP train with special guests hauled top and tailed by N2 1744 and N7 69621) and at the golf club area. ONE HELL OF A RUN but it was worth it i also was able to see it again at norwich but due to west coast being a pest and late running of run round at norwich i had to cut my journey short keep an eye out on GEGreateasterngroup's channel for the upcoming video with mine and a few other's videos though

Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th March, 2010. Work went on throughout the night under the Network Rail possession to connect together the final pieces of Sheringham Level Crossing. 17m were needed to rejoin the two lines - by 9am the crossing was in and signed off. A DRS Class 37 was used to test the crossing and became the first locomotive to cross the road in over 40 years.
