Full run-through of Shinobi for the Sega Master System. The game was a direct port of the arcade version and had the best sound and graphics of any home version of the original Shinobi (it put the NES version to shame). The game improved upon the arcade original by introducing many new things such as a life-bar, new weapons and magic.

Classic Game Room HD - REVENGE OF SHINOBI Genesis review Pt1
Part 1 of 2. (audio remixed to sound correct) Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of THE REVENGE OF SHINOBI for the Sega Genesis 16-bit video game system. The Sega Genesis game console (aka the Mega Drive Megadrive) is CHRHD's favorite gaming system, and it's no surprise that Revenge of Shinobi is one of our favorite games. This two parters looks at this amazing side scrolling action game and what sets it apart from the rest. What we need is more 2d two dimentional side scrollers on game systems like the Playstation 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 and Wii. Although some platformers and 2 D side scrollers have hit Xbox Live Arcade XBLA we want brand new ones that combine old school action with martial arts mayhem, great stories, fun gameplay and characters. Revenge of Shinobi has it all! Break out the Genesis and enjoy a couple games of Shinobi.... Disco Shinobi of course. They should remake this game for 2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011, a remade Shinobi sequel for a new gamer system would be amazing. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. The year is 1614. Japan has been united under the Tokugawa Shoguns and the land is beginning to feel at peace. Two remote ninja clans, the Koga and the Iga, are ancient enemies but have long been bound by a peace agreement forbidding them to fight. The heirs to the leadership of both clans have fallen in love - but a tragic fate awaits them. A cruel plot is set by the Shogun to wipe these two clans from existence by breaking the peace agreement and forcing the two clans to battle. Five ninjas of each the Koga and Iga clans will battle against each other to the death. As a great war begins it brings the two young heirs together again. But this time as enemies...

Shinobi 3 - Return of the Ninja Master - Boss Run
One night of insomia = this boss run. 13 Bosses in 6 minutes. Obviously, they don't live for very long. :P Taking someone's suggestion I had on my Revenge of Shinobi boss run, this one is performed using Power Ups. It certainly makes the bosses alot easier, several of them don't get a chance to pull off any attacks at all. None of these bosses are as easy as I make them look, I just know what i'm doing. The Power Up gives you Double damage until you get hit. And, as you can see. I don't get hit. This means the bosses often die before they get a chance to act. Body Weapon, for example, is pretty nasty if he lives. (Screen filling laser beams are always rather nasty.) The mini-bosses on the other hand, are as pathetic as they look. But they're mini-bosses. I'm not sure which game I prefer, this or RoS. Whilst RoS is pure awesomeness, this game makes you feel like more of a Ninja, thanks to the additional moves you have access to. They also make it alot easier to dodge attacks too. Despite having this game on the Virtual Console, I have only, just, halfway through this boss run, figured out you could block attacks. I discovered by accident during the 4th Boss and 5th MiniBoss. :P I have no idea why the Godzilla boss failed to pull off any attacks. Oh well. Oh, and.. yeah.. I made a couple of mistakes during recording... the music for a couple of the mini-bosses are cut off slightly, thanks to the fact I wasn't quick enough to hit the "record" button when they appeared... oh <b>...</b>

This ninja action side scroller is the precurser to The Revenge of Shinobi and has slower gameplay and less enemies but retains that typical and familiar Shinobi charm. In part 1 we review the first couple levels and look at the layouts and music and gamplay of Shinobi. Only Classic Game Room can review Shinobi with the CGR eye to detail. Shinobi uses ninja magic and throws throwing stars in bonus stages, he fights the evil Zeed crime organization. Basically Shinobi is awesome and started out as an arcade game in 1987 from Sega. Shinobi is also available for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Commodore 64 and Atari ST computer. Classic Game Room brings you ninja sized retro video game reviews. Joe Musashi is bad-ass.

This is the first part of the Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master Superplay. Requested by friend, Blazin_Trey Recorded with Hypercam2 @ 29fps, Re-Encoded with VirtualDub Ver 1.6.17 VirtualDub Quality Settings Used: WinMugen Settings - Youtube ~Old School Games~ Difficulty: Hard Mode Type of superplay: No Death By Enemy, No Death by Stage. No Glitch, No Cheat. Stipulations: Use the 4th Ninjitsu ability only in extreme, or dire situations. Mainly aiming for no death by accident. Using the 4th Ninjitsu will technically make you lose a life, but it does not count as actually dying. Also trying to use the sword as much as possible.

This game means a lot to me. It was the first game for the Game Gear that I ever bought (even though I didn't own one at the time -- it was my sister's) and despite how difficult it was (This is only the second time I have ever managed to complete it) I was incredibly happy with it.

Those looking for a game with lots of challenge and a distinct sense of style would do well to check out Shinobi. It's a well-known fact that ninjas are cool. Yet these enigmatic, highly trained, highly disciplined, emotionless Japanese assassins probably have a pretty difficult life, what with all the skulking and assassinating and running around. And in the case of Shinobi, Sega's latest 3D action game, the main character, Hotsuma, has it even tougher than usual--he'll be constantly fighting off the demonic remains of his former clansmen. So if you're expecting a challenge from Shinobi, then at least you know what you're in for. The game, inspired by Sega's classic ninja action series, is notable both for its extreme level of difficulty and also for its highly responsive control mechanics. The combination of these elements makes for a game that can be very satisfying when it isn't frustrating, though in any event, Shinobi could have used more time in development so that its action could have stood out better from the game's assorted shortcomings.
