Scene One: PIÑON KATJA - Mark Laskin (0:40 into the video clip) 1995 Brookside Classic Scene Two: EVEREST TWOSTEP - Michael Whitaker (1:49 into the video clip) 1995 du Maurier Limited International The fence at which TwoStep performed his twostep, was the bogey of the course-- nearly all the horses who had faults throughout that course, got them on that particular fence. It was a 5'3"tall-6'6"wide oxer positioned in front of the in-gate but angled away from it. Every horse wanted to drift towards the in-gate, and if that wasn't corrected before liftoff, then they would have to jump the fence at an angle, increasing the spread that they would have to cover by a tremendous (and usually insurmountable) margin. The du Maurier truly was THE professionals' championship of the showjumping world! 2009. McLain Ward and Vancouver take top honors in Friday night's Puissance class. Honestly, I was cheering for Darragh Kenny of Ireland and the terrific Gael Force. I was also hoping that the Sweet N Low's 1983 record of 7'7 1/2" would be broken, but no such luck. Still, it was awesome to see in person! Also, viewers please note that this class was McLain's FIRST TIME personally showing winning mount Vancouver. Impressive!

McLain Ward Makes History Winning the $250000 FTI Grand Prix Bridgehampton, NY-August 30, 2009- McLain Ward of Brewster, NY, made history at the Hampton Classic Horse Show by winning the $250000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup Qualifier for a record fourth time on his two-time Olympic team gold medal horse, Sapphire, owned by Ward and Blue Chip Bloodstock. Previously, Ward was tied with Margie Engle and Rodney Jenkins with three victories each. Unlike Saturday, the weather for the FTI Grand Prix was beautiful. Expectations were high, but the first clean round did not come until the thirteenth rider, Judy Garofalo Torres of Dover Plains, NY, riding Higher Ground Farm's Oliver. Torres had to wait a long time to see if anyone in the field of 33 could challenge her fault-free performance. One by one the best riders and horses in the country were beaten by the Conrad Homfeld designed course as rails continued to fall. "I was kind of surprised," said Torres of the lack of clean rounds. "My horse did so well. I did think there would be a few more clears. I was getting pretty excited at the end." Had a ~LOT~ of requests for this one! The spectacular stallion Jus de Pomme is seen here winning the individual Gold metal in the 1996 Centennial Olympic games in Atlanta. Underdog of the Gold metal-winning German team, Jus de Pomme and Ulrich Kirchhoff were the only horse/rider combination to complete both rounds of the individual showjumping phase with no jumping (and only a few time) faults. Four-fault horses/riders would later compete in an exciting jumpoff; won by Switzerland's Willi Melliger (who you may recognize from the "Bareback Puissance" video) aboard Calvaro V, and followed by Alexandra Liederman aboard Rochet M, for the Silver and Bronze, respectively. The video concludes with the memorable and heartwarming victory lap, which saw Kirchhoff release Jus de Pomme to gallop freely around the Georgia International Horse Park, while he (Kirchhoff) proudly held his medal and flag for all the world to see. This is how most of the world last saw him: proud, and at the top of his game-- as this magnificent stallion died very shortly after this video was taken. Shocked beyond words doesn't even cover it! After taking over 45 minutes to load him in the morning, trying desperately not to get stressed out and getting completely stressed out! We get to the show, get him sorted, and Mandy starts warming him up to do her clear round on him, and he was pretty hyper!!! Over the past like 24 hours he'd had about 4 scoops of conmpetition mix, and they paid off!! He was pinging everywhere, so only had 4 warm up jumps on him then straight into class, he went clear, was so good! Mandy done such a fab job with him!! Then I had a clear round and again, he went clear the little dude! So I was happy enough then, haa! So I was in for 70 next, he got the very last pole so I was gutted, but jumped really well otherwise! And by this time the rain had picked up a little, people were worrying about slipping, but Jays so balanced and relaxed in the ring, even though he's got energy he doesn't use it to run forwards out of control, he pings upwards out of control! haha So done first round in 80, and he was clear! I was like yay! haha but was really seriously thinking about doing a slow jump off and then pulling out the rest, but when it came to it, it dried up again, and everyone was like "honestly he's fine, he's a nice steady and relaxed horse, hes fine" so I stayed in, but had some really awful practice jumps and was just like argg this aint working, (and have realised jay doesnt like warm up jumps! But take him into the ring an he tries his heart <b>...</b>

*I DO NOT OWN MUSIC* OM G...hallelujah! a video! i cant hardly believe it myself..its been so long since i pressed that lovley upload button at the top of my screen but here you go! this was me and may last weekend at a show jumping comp :D it was her first EVER 2.9ft class ;) bless her i think she did amazing but daym we got 4 faults coz we knocked a plank..UGH the grass was slippy and we had a spread to skinny on related distance dog leg then tight corner to another spread then a plank and dammit i just didnt have enough time to pick her up for the plank and we died a bit and rattled it and a plank being a plank plopped off the racket :( but we got ourselves back up and balanced for a nice meaty spread round the next corner haha! so yeeess very proud of my lil girl..all the little jumps in the vid were from the clear round i did to warm up, and the 3ft jump on the barrels were she is bunny hopping in was when she got a little but excited into the warm up fence i could feel her going in like 'ahhh mummy its a fence im gunna pee my pants, let me at it let me at it' so i had to just sit back and make her stand off which caused her to knock it..meh! and all the bigger fences are off our actually 2.9ft class! sooo hope u like the vid and i apologize for the time its taken to do one lol :D love hannah & may xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
