Creepy Robot Helps Dentists Learn

(Image source: Ubergizmo) BY STEVEN SPARKMAN ANCHOR ANA COMPAIN-ROMERO Unless you're a fan of dental drilling injuries, you can probably understand the need for extensive training for beginning dentists. And -- for the sake of learning --drilling on someone -- or something -- that can't sue them. Well, a Japanese robot manufacturer has built a roboticpatient, and it's just life-like enough... it's almost disturbing. "Showa University has announced Showa Hanako 2, a robot dental patient, fabricated by robot-maker Tmsuk." (Robot chats with dentist) "Among the robot's autonomous actions, it can blink, roll its eyes, sneeze, shake its head, cough, move its tongue, and get tired of keeping its mouth open." (Video source: DigInfo TV) Hanako 2 boasts several upgrades over the last model. For one thing, its skin is more realistic and its mouth is watertight. But-- the robotics company needed a little extra help creating those features. Wired tells us where they found it. "So where do you get a realistic looking female face? Why, the sex toy industry, of course! Showa worked with Orient Industry, a noted maker of Japanese love dolls, to create a silicon mug with a mouth lining and a motor-driven tongue." The developers said they want studentsworking with Hanako 2 to capture the "tension" of working with a real patient. So beyond gagging and getting fidgety, New Scientist says the robot will also remember the dentist's every slip up. "... Hanako's virtues are not only skin-deep ...

Showa Boston Girls doing the Soran Bushi with a little twist.

I've honestly seen the そらん ぶし の ダンス (Soran Bushi Dance) countless number of times, (Perhaps six or more!) but when I saw it done this time I was in for a little different. ^__^ The dance was performed at Showa Boston University in Boston by the Showa Boston Girls themselves.

Japanese Officials Excited for Divine Performing Arts

ZHANG: And next Divine Performing Arts will begin touring Japan starting on Wednesday. Audiences are looking forward to seeing the show. Among them Mr. Takayuki Tsuchiya, a member of Tokyos Democratic Party of Japan. STORY: Hitomi Memorial Hall at Showa Womens University, is quietly waiting for the arrival of Divine Performing Arts. After having watched the shows of Divine Performing Arts for several years, Mr. Takayuki Tsuchiya has high expectations of this years show. He says he will bring his wife to see the show. [Hiroyuki Tsuchiya, Tokyo Democratic Party of Japan]: In China, the performing arts are all injected with the communist ideology; they are all stage arts after being brainwashed by the Chinese communists thinking. I think only Divine Performing Arts is able to bring the true Chinese traditional culture. I am really looking forward to it! Please continue the good efforts! Former Japanese House of Representatives Member Mr. Nakatsugawa, hopes more and more people can see the performance. [Mr. Nakatsugawa, Former House of Representatives Member]: I have contacted other House of Representatives members, suggesting that they issue greetings. If they can make it, I would invite them to see the show. How will the Divine Performing Arts once again delight Japanese audiences? Our correspondents will be there to bring you the news.

Sardar Ali Takar سردار علی تکر (Philosopher Ghani Khan Poems دغنی بابا کلام)

دغنی بابا کلامSardar Ali Takkar (born 15th of July, 1956), a veteran of the Pashto singing scene, is mostly famous for singing the revolutionary poetry of Ghani Khan. An engineer by profession, Takkar is a graduate of the University of Engineering and Technology (Peshawar). In recognition of his services to the field of music the President of Pakistan had bestowed upon him the Pride of Performance Award. He completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar. Aside from this he has also attended special courses in UK and Canada. His University life provided him more chances to exhibit his hidden talent. Initially he used to present his skills before his friends, in different musical programme in the university. But it was in 1982 when Yar Muhammad Maghmum, a professor at the historic Edward College Peshawar, wanted to celebrate an evening with the great legendry and dynamic philosopher Ghani Khan, but was unable to find a singer who was ready to meet the challenge of putting Ghani's poetry in music. When Takkar became aware of the situation, he agreed to sing in that programme. Some people also recorded this programme on audio cassette, which got so prominence that even the music stores started selling it on regular basis. In this way, his debut album (solely ...

cross the Pacific Ocean from Ecuador to JapanArcheologists and historians of the Smithsonian Institute (US), Showa Pharmacological University (Japan), and Ecuador propose that in ancient times a trade route existed between the indigenous peoples of Ecuador and Japan. An exciting project is being undertaken to prove this theory. BALSA ECUATORIANA-JP, an Ecuadorian-based NGO, has the objective to not only prove the ancient trade between Ecuador and Japan, but also to preserve ancestral balsa raft fishing traditions and to protect the environment. The NGO receives support from the Academia de Historia Maritima in Ecuador "6000年前、古代人は筏で海を渡り南米まで航海をしていた!?" Did Jesus die for the sins of the world? Was He Crucified as a Willing Sacrifice for the Sins of God's People? Did Jesus die to appease an angry God? According to the Bible, Jesus called upon God to save him. Let this cup pass from me, he pleaded, but no help came.Neither from God or his followers. His last words were, "My God, my God, why hath thou forsaken me". Those were not the words of a man willing to die. Those were the words of a man wanting to live!! Dr Jerald Dirks is our guest on today's show, Dr. Dirks received his Bachelor of Arts (philosophy) from Harvard College in 1971, his Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School in 1974, his Master of Arts (clinical child psychology) from the University of Denver in 1976, his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in clinical psychology from the University of Denver in 1978, and his sessions program certificate in Islamic studies from Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in 1998. In 1969, he obtained his License to Preach from the United Methodist Church and was ordained into the Christian ministry (deaconate) by the United Methodist Church in 1972. He converted to Islam in 1993 and completed the 'Umrah and Hajj in 1999.
