If you want to play around with the weather simulator, you can find it here: ccl.northwestern.edu Yet another one of my NetLogo simulations. This one simulates the formation of weather systems on a (highly simplified) virtual planet. Here's a quick rundown of what you'll see in the video: -The "planet"'s single continent is the green circle you see in the middle of the blue ocean towards the start of the video. -The blue field you see later on is the plot of atmospheric humidity. The little white patches that appear and flit around represent clouds, or more accurately, areas where it's raining. -The black, red, and white map shows global temperatures. The simulation is remarkably simple and runs fairly quickly. It takes into account effects like that of the day/night cycle and decreased solar heating at higher latitudes. I'll post a link to it if I can get it up on the NetLogo "Community Models" page. Enjoy!
